Treat yourself to a tasty meal at Gill's By the Bay, a family owned restaurant where you can watch the wildlife and boats from the observation deck, stroll through the garden, and delight yourself with homemade food. Cottage on the Canal is located in King Salmon, a small town less than seven miles south of Eureka. It is centrally located near all that the Redwood Coast has to offer including the Redwood Parks, Trees of Mystery, Historic Ferndale, Avenue of the Giants, Sequoia Park Zoo and Gorgeous beaches. Also located 15 miles from the heart of Arcata, Home of Cal Poly Humboldt, shops, restaurants and much more.

The accommodations were very nice. Perfect for my daughter and I.Could use a couple mirrors in the bedrooms as it was difficult for two women to get ready in the morning with just bathroom mirror. Would stay again

Great little home

Property is a cozy little home, very clean. It was perfect for us for a two day trip to the area. We needed something pet friendly so we could bring our pug and it worked out perfect. Street was quiet, and the ocean is a couple minute walk. Would definitely stay again.

This little cottage was just right for our short stay in Eureka. Had everything we needed. Nice quiet neighborhood on Humboldt bay. Short walk to Gill’s on the Bay cafe which serves great breakfast and lunch options with a smile.

Perfect cozy bay retreat!

This cozy cottage is everything described and more! So clean and quiet with lush back patio overlooking the canal with boats. 2 minute walk to a cool sandy beach on the bay. Highly recommend and look forward to booking again!!

I came to here to see my son play football at the College of the Redwoods it was nice to have a place to sit and hang out. I love the area its nice and quiet.

Short Stay but perfect for the night.

I have been staying in King Salmon one week a month for the last couple of years and have stayed in 5 different places. This one is defenitely in top two and given the rental rate defenitely #1 for value. I usually stay right across the street from the beach but found that I like this houses location better. Its quieter, I like the backyard better too I like the canal in back. The only thing this house needs is a bit of updating and a washer that guests can use, It is small and there is no place for dishwasher but that would have been nice also. The owner is supper responsive, beds are comfy, kitchen small but works. I really like this place.

Holiday visit

We were very comfortable in this space. If only it was warmer and we could have had coffee on the patio. As is common in N California, the smell of mildew was very prevalent in the bathroom and bedroom, but it wasn't a deal breaker. But we loved being able to walk just down the street and walk the dunes and beach. The neighborhood was very quiet and the location was easy to locate and a good starting point for our visits with family.

Fabulous Location

First, this location can't be beat. You are 1 block from a great beach- its a protected beach that is perfect for kids- we loved it!!! The house was super clean and comfortable, host was very responsive. I would 100% stay here again. FYI- the washing machine is not for guests and you need to pick up paper bowls if you need bowls.
