Brand New Lake House - Charming waterfront property near Mount Bohemia

At the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, nestled on Lac La Belle—a small, beautiful inland lake off of Lake Superior—you’ll find our charming, modern lake house. Here, you’ll have access to the full top floor (on top of an unoccupied, unfinished basement level).

Whether seeking adventure or tranquility, our home is the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature while also enjoying comfortable amenities, including a spacious living room, a gas fireplace, a washer and dryer, WiFi, a smart TV, and an open gourmet kitchen (including pantry staples and spices).

There’s two bedrooms, both with queen beds. The master has an attached bathroom and large walk-in closet. Another full bathroom can be found in the hall. In the living room, there’s a queen sleeper sofa that can comfortably fit two. All linens (sheets/towels) will be provided.

For your morning coffee or evening cocktail, take a seat on our wrap-around porch overlooking the lake. Down by the water, relax in the hammock, fish off the dock, or gather around the campfire. We also have kayaks and bikes available for use, as well as games, puzzles, and books.

There’s something to do nearby in every season. Our place is:
- 2 miles from Mount Bohemia (for snowboarding/skiing in winter)
- 2.5 miles from Bare Bluff (a great spot for hiking with breathtaking views)
- 2.5 miles from Bete Gris Beach on Lake Superior (with clear waters and a pristine shoreline)
- 20-minute drive from Copper Harbor (where you can find restaurants, bike trails, Brockway Mountain, and more)
- 30-minute drive from Calumet, Michigan (great for shopping and buying groceries en route to house)
- 50-minute drive from Houghton (where you can find Michigan Tech, restaurants, and a brewery)

There are also plenty of ATV, ORV, and bike trails nearby! The Keweenaw Peninsula is a popular destination for snowmobilers in the winter.

Golfers can enjoy a few courses in the area, including The Keweenaw Mountain Lodge, Calumet, Sandy Pebble, and Portage Lake Golf Courses.

All in all, our lake house is a wonderful place for friends and families to enjoy lake life, forge memories, and embrace the beauty and serenity of the Upper Peninsula.

Host was very welcoming for us on our stay. Everything was clean and worked properly. It snowed Saturday night and by the time we came back from riding Mount Bohemia Saturday afternoon, driveway was plowed for us. Would recommend again

Our stay at the Belle House on Penny Lane was all we could hope for. A peaceful retreat with scenic surroundings. The accommodations were lovely and met all our needs. It was obvious that much attention was taken to detail. A big thank you to our hosts!

30th anniversary vacation.

My mother’s family is from the Keweenaw, mostly in Calumet. We love the area, so we decided to celebrate our 30th anniversary there, and wanted a waterfront property where we could fish, enjoy a nice view, and relax. This is a spectacular property. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a clean, modern space in a stunning location. The hosts provide all sorts of thoughtful touches. The fishing is great, and you could spend a lifetime exploring the Keweenaw and neverSee everything. The reviews are on point. Best VRBO property we’ve stayed at. If we could give it an 11 we would.

Exactly as advertised

My wife and I had a lovely three night stay in this home recently. The property is extremely clean. It is very well stocked with all the necessities and more. The extras - bottled water, coffee, beer and even a frozen pizza- were thoughtful touches. The TV includes premium channels. The view looking out on the lake is very pretty and calming and we caught a few colorful sunsets on the lake. Bottom line, zero complaints and we would stay here again.

Keweenaw Adventure

My family loved our stay. What a great place to enjoy the views of the lake as well as play on the lake! We ate all our meals here, grilling out one night and having everything at our finger tips for cooking, etc. Being so close to Bete Grise beach was nice! Our day adventures to Copper Harbor, Brockway Mountain Dr and walking at Hunters Point Park were not too far away. We have found our place to stay when we are back in these neck of the woods!

Great property, communication and little touches

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. So many nice little touches that were above our expectations really added to the quality of the accommodations. Beautiful Mt Bohemia ski cabin

Lac La belle Gem

We all loved this place! Jennifer has thought of everything
well stocked, nicely decorated, comfortable beds and furniture and well laid out for cooking and visiting. There’s a great “coffee time” spot by the fireplace that overlooks the lake. We came to go to Little Boho, but not enough snow for us so we ended up going to Mont Ripley. But the Nordic Spa at Mount Bohemia was wonderful. We also enjoyed a scenic loop drive that Jennifer recommended and it was gorgeous!! We hope to return one day

Ski Trip

Highly recommend staying at this beautiful lake home. The house was very clean and functional, as well as being fully stocked with everything we needed from cooking utensils to extra coffee. Only complaint for the trip was a lack of snow, but thankfully we had this beautiful home to spend our time in while we were plotting our backup adventures. It's very close to lots of good hiking locations, including Bare Bluff, which I'd highly recommend checking out. Thanks again to Jennifer for letting us stay and I look forward to returning in the future.

Fall color and fishing extravaganza!

This property did not disappoint! The owners were very helpful and friendly. The home is beautiful, overlooking a lake. Short drive to Copper Harbor. The tree colors were spectacular! I would go back to this beautiful home any chance I have🍁
