Charming and beautiful!
We had one night to spend in Juneau and are so glad we found this adorable, quiet and clean rental. It was all ready for us when we arrived, lit up and welcoming, the chocolate was a nice surprise, me and my daughter loved every part of it and had a great time hanging out in the cozy loft. Thanks for sharing the property with us!

Memorable stay in the house of Angles
My party of 5 (ages 10-55) were overjoyed when we walked into this house. There is not a 90 degree angle in sight and it exudes cozy coolness. My older kids loved hanging out and sleeping in the loft. The house had everything we needed. We all wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely try to stay here again next time we are in Juneau. (Note: You definitely need a car if you stay here... it's quite a ways out the road, but was convenient to the ferry.)

Wonderful!
We had a great time playing games that they provided. We drank hot cocoa while we played games. They had a great selection of games to play. Game night was so fun since at home we don’t have time in the evenings to sit down and play a game.
The beds were comfortable and the couch was very comfortable and a nice sized dining table.
It was fun relaxing in the hammock upstairs and reading a book. Very unique place to stay, like an indoor Swiss Family Robinson tree house.

Lovely place - lots of stairs
Very fun and quaint cottage in the woods. Unique architecture. Great place to experience the outdoors of the Juneau area and nice to be away from the cruise-ship crowds of downtown Juneau. Lots of hiking trails (from easy to difficult) as well as beach access nearby. We very much enjoyed the "Aerie" while we were there.
(We would love to have had bikes to ride up the Herbert Glacier trail, which is wide and mostly flat, but is almost 10 miles round trip.)
The one thing I want to let people know is that there are lots of steep stairs in this rental. From someone with "bad knees", the spiral staircases were something to take care going up and down. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend the "Aerie" for people with toddlers or for anybody with mobility issues.

We’re so glad you enjoyed our beautiful retreat, and the magnificent area! Thank you for your kind words. We’d like to point out only one of our bedrooms is accessed by the spiral staircase, and the other bedroom is on the main level. Many families with children have loved staying here!

Alaskan hideaway!
I visited Juneau with my son and fiancé so family could meet the soon to be DIL. This liitle cabin was perfect for us. I had the cozy main floor bedroom and they had the beautiful room up the spiral staircase. The owners were fantastic and responsive. The home was so cozy, unique and welcoming. The kitchen is small but well stocked. We enjoyed being out of town and yet a quick drive to all the restaurants, shops and family! Kind of like a drive up
Tree house! Parking was great and off the road. This place is so different and fun. It would not suit everyone. Lots os stairs in and outside. So little kids or anyone with mobility issues should go elsewhere. But for us it was the absolute best choice I could have made!

Such a charming place near gorgeous trails
This cabin is built in such a brilliant manner I think it would be most interesting to sit with the builder and hear about how this idea came to be. Corey was very kind and helpful with suggestions. The cabin had some food essentials for us in the fridge, pancake mix, maples syrup, and oatmeal which were most appreciated.
We love the beauty of nature and hiking. Just around the corner is a stunning trail to the beach called the breadline buff trail. We also went a couple of nights to the shrine of saint Terese to marvel at the nature and fish. We saw some whales from shore too. Right next door to the shrine is Caroline’s point trail which was also gorgeous. On our last day we went further into the remote forest and saw eagles beach and hiked Cowee creek trail.
This was a wonderful home base to explore the beauty of Alaska. The home was utterly charming and clever, and we loved coming home to it every night. I suggest this wonderful cabin to any wilderness enthusiast to come to with a home base of comfort, charm and comfort. Enjoy

Enchanted place, but negatives: bats
Pros:This is a beautiful unique house on lush green property. We saw a black bear trapse through the plants near the house. So cool! The design of the house is incredibly unique. Corey welcomed us to the home with a sweet sign, note, beautiful flowers and chocolate. She was very good to communicate with. Cons:If anyone in your group has mobility issues, this is not the house for them. A few of the stairs were lacking sufficient railing, which did not bother our group, but may be a hazard for some others. Upon arrival we saw many dead bugs in the blankets in the top loft area. Never did we see any in our sleeping beds. We discovered that a few are bat bugs. Not bedbugs. If you have bat bugs, you have a bat infestation. We heard the bats the first night, but they were in only the very top of the house. On the third night at 2:30 AM I woke up to the sound of them scratching and squealing and fluttering very close. I don’t think one ever actually got in the house, but I never went back to sleep because I could hear them right above our heads over the noise of my sound machine. Which was turned on high volume. I was concerned that the bats were about to scratch through the foam and enter our bedroom. As I could not sleep in that house again with the fear of bats entering, we ended our stay 2 nights early. Corey was great to work with and gave us a full refund. This house would be perfect for so many groups if the bats can be eradicated. It created a very stressful time.

This is a damaging, unfair and unrealistic review. The Aerie is a beautiful property set in the Alaskan rainforest. There are many wild animals and creatures all around us, but never inside the house. There are no harmful insects and no infestations. We work our heartfelt best to create a beautiful, clean, attentive space. We have only received wonderful reviews by all our guests, on all our platforms. If someone has fears, nightmares, or night terrors, or is in need of sound machines, that is not our responsibility. When a full refund was given, even after facilities were taken full advantage of, it is not in good faith that this inflammatory review was written. This group should not be considered as guests, since they did not stay and they did not pay. VRBO has a responsibility to not allow this.
