Beaver Cabin is a charming little cabin located just a couple miles from the Mississippi River in the outskirts of Lansing IA.
The cabin is laid out with 3 bedrooms/ 1 bath, fully stocked kitchen with full size appliances, and anything you should need to cook a meal during your stay.
Back porch with gas grill and hot tub.
Each bedroom has 1 queen bed. Additional sleeping space in living room with a queen sofa bed.
Full bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Linens and towels are provided.

Wasn’t a cabin in the typical sense but cozy and warm nonetheless. Very much enjoyed the hot tub. This was probably the cleanest place we’ve stayed at. Would definitely stay here again as the only issue we ran into was not being able to use the carafe for the coffee.

The location itself is somewhat deceiving based on photos alone. It appears as a cabin which are typically somewhat secluded and private but this is right off the main road next to a motel. I didnt feel 100% comfortable having children in a cabin right next to a motel and potential various guests.The cabin itself was decently clean and spacious enough for the 8 of us. There are repairs and upgrades that would be beneficial (kitchen drawer with utensils would get stuck and difficult to open, shower head has a high pitch squealing noise the entire time you shower, some of the cooking pans/pots are old and scratched and all piled up in the cabinet rather than having a shelf at least to separate it all). We couldnt use the grill. The propane tank wasnt empty but the grill wasnt giving out flames strong enough to sustain a fire (it would give out little gusts of fire)..luckily we brought our air fryer and used it for the meat. Hot tub was great and highlight of our trip and the deck was nice with hung up lights and secluded. Overall, average stay.

Home was nicely furnished and the beds were very comfortable. We had an issue with the oven not being clean which caused the smoke detectors to go off. Good news is there are lots of smoke detectors so was impressed with that feature. Gabby sent someone within an hour to take care of this issue and resolved it for us. Hot tub was wonderful to relax in! There were lots of board games available and internet was great! The house is located right next to a motel and street leading into town, but; it was still nice and quiet! Check in and out procedure was great.

Our stay was good. The home was clean but definitely in need of repairs. Floors were soft and sagging in hallway, small bathroom and a bit run down. A bit musty but we were only there 2 days and did not spend much time in the house during the day. We did use the hot tub but it didn’t seem to get too hot.

The cabin name said Beaver, then in another email said badger. Address had numbers transversed. It was confusing where we supposed to be. My husband found the door unlocked so we went in, a little scary not knowing what we were walking into. The hot tub needed cleaning. Other than that , it was fine.

The cabin had a “ Febreze” odor. There was a full to the brim ash tray on the small porch. Property photos were deceiving. Expected a yard with a fire pit
 actually a small hill next to a main road. The hall way into the home and living room was uneven and a bit unsafe for a person with a cane. The entire house was crammed at end of a driveway to a hotel. However, the kitchen was well equipped and spacious. Living room was spacious with more than enough seating. The beds were all very comfortable. The porch with the hot tub was nice however the neighbor was about three feet away. All in all it was an ok place for one night.

Amazing place with remote (but not too remote) small town location. Much larger than the photos do justice for. There are three separate bedrooms (I think only one showed in the photos) as well as a pull out sofa. Everyone had plenty of space. Great time!

Comfortable and cozy

Very nicely done and tidy, a few minor maintenance problems that should be addressed, with the deck and hot tub area
 Some of the screws had lifted up and should be fixed. Hallway flooring was also unsteady. We throughly enjoyed our time with our children and grandchildren! The area is stunning! We felt like we were in Canada!

Relaxing stay in a beautiful area.

Loved everything this property has to offer. The hot tub is top of the line and we used it every night. Everything else on the property is great as well, and you cannot beat the location. Definitely looking foward to a return trip here.

Smelled a bit musty , floor in the hallway was messed up , umbrella on the patio table was ripped and didn't work, only the left burners on the stove worked . That's just petty stuff ! Beautiful property! we had a great time sitting outside on the deck and hot tub , very relaxing, comfy couch , hubby slept in the recliner , beds are firm

Enjoyed our stay. Place was clean inside but outside could have used a little more pick me up. Communication could have improved more. But all in all we had a pleasant stay.

Clean and spacious

This cabin was very clean and has plenty of room. The hot tub was nice to relax in and watch the sunrise or set. We would definitely come back again.

Fishing Getaway

5 of us stayed the night after a long day of fishing on the Mississippi. Everything was as expected. Clean and comfortable.

Fun at The River

A motorcycle trip to the river never disappoints. Lansing was a great place to stay. The cabin is comfortable and well maintained. We found the The Buck stop Here was a must for breakfast. Thee OP and Shep's for adult beverages and dinner. Enjoyed our stay and visiting with the locals.

Property would be so much better with proper maintenance

Kids enjoyed their stay, especially the hot tub. Maintenance is poor. Back bedroom window leaked during rain. Plywood under hall rug almost tripped me. Large windowsills filled with dead ladybugs. Bedroom ceiling sloppily painted over what was obviously a water stained ceiling. Only 4 of each size plates and silverware. Other than that, the property was comfortable. Good working air conditioning and lighting. My youngest grandson was afraid of all the dead animals on the walls.
