Stunning New Horse and Hare Inn

This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. It's right off Hwy 4 and across the street from the Grocery Store and Organic Market. Main Street is the next street over and walking distance. It has been completely renovated with the Guest in mind. The kitchen is brand new with GE Cafe appliances. The backyard is spacious and peaceful and has a 3-hole putting green. We also offer an Electric Car Charger. We designed this house to be comfortable and fun!

This is my second time staying with my adult children at this beautiful home! It's very nicely decorated and the amenities are perfect! I would highly recommend staying here!

This was our second stay at this fantastic property, and it was perfect for our group of six. The location is ideal—just a 5–10 minute walk to great coffee, restaurants, shops, and wine tasting rooms.Parking was a breeze with a roomy garage and driveway. The kitchen is cute, modern, and well-equipped; the dining area has plenty of seating; and the family room is cozy with comfortable leather furniture and a gas fireplace. Bedrooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and the bathrooms were spacious and modern with large showers. The master suite even has a huge walk in closet.Our host, Doreen, was quick to respond and went above and beyond—she even delivered a crockpot when we asked about one. We highly recommend this property and would gladly stay again!

Gorgeous property, furnishings, finishes, great location, all the details taken care of so we didn’t have to worry about a thing! Host was very attentive to details and communicated well. Definitely recommend this property to anyone going to Murphys for a concert, wine tasting or just to enjoy the small town charm. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful family house

We really enjoyed our stay at the Horse and Hare, it really was perfect. The house was very recently remodeled and by far the nicest rental we’ve ever stayed in. Showers were nice and large, kitchen was modern and well stocked and every room had a smart TV and a nice bed. Owner was quick to respond to questions.Location was perfect, very short walk to the store and a 5 min walk to downtown. Lots to do downtown with wine tasting, great food, and a park with a creek to swim in when it gets hot. Also close to New Melones lake with boat rentals, Kayaking at Lake Alpine and a lot more.The house was the perfect place for our family to stay for a great mountain getaway.

Love Murphys, great time with family and friends. Downtown did not disappoint, the park was amazing as always the people were great, not going to be able to say the same for the HH inn. Nice property for sure but unfortunately the host was surveilling the cameras onsite throughout the stay. Messaging multiple times about our kids playing on a big rock out back. Additional costs for using the EV charger onsite, adding 100 cost for extra cleaning for dishes we washed and were drying on counter, no appropriate cleaning supplies to do a better job on our way out. Oh well, you win some you lose some but I just wouldn’t be able to recommend this host or the property, plenty of others in the area that we’ve stayed at before that are much more inviting.

Stunning vacation Rental

By far one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in! We have been spending summer weekends in this area for more than 30 years! The house was renovated and decorated beautifully! The deck and backyard were perfect for family time including a putting championship! Kichen was well appointed and everything was super comfy including the amazing beds. Our family of 6 adults had a lovely time. Thank you to our wonderful host Dorene for such prompt communication. Would recommend this rental for families or a fun filled ladies weekend wine tasting. You will go home wanting to collect bunnies!

Perfect Retreat

We are a group of five 70 year old “young hearted” ladies who have been friends for 30years. Our stay at this lovely, newly remodeled home was ideal for us. It is beautifully appointed, comfortable beds, very well stocked kitchen with beautiful bathrooms and hotel grade towels and toiletries! The outdoors is newly landscaped with lovely patio seating. We did not want to leave it was so comfortable. Thank you Dorene for sharing your home!

Wonderful getaway

A couple of times a year the four of us longtime friends get away for a weekend of exploring, cooking, drinking wine, and catching up with each other. This was an absolutely wonderful house and suited our needs perfectly! Communication was prompt, check-in was super easy, and we really appreciated the cook’s kitchen and high-end barbecue grill. Murphys was of course as charming as ever!

Perfect Vacation House

We enjoyed a wonderful girls weekend at The Horse and Hare in Murphys. I can’t say enough good things about the house and the host, Dorene. The house is beautifully decorated, seems bran new and was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and so modern! The bedrooms were huge and the beds extremely comfortable. The landscaping and outdoor spaces were inviting. The location was perfect and just a few minutes walk to the historic downtown. Dorene’s quick and clear communication was invaluable. We really appreciated her tips on where to dine. We are already planning our next trip to the Horse & Hare!

Absolutely Stunning Home!

This home is perfect! I came to Murphys with my two adult children and their significant others for a family Christmas get together.The home is beautifully decorated and had all the amenities you would want. The beds were amazing and the living room had a super comfortable couch along with a gas fireplace which was nice during the chilling evening. It is in a great location, walking distance to downtown Murphy and right near the local grocery store. We didn't spend much time in the backyard but it is beautiful and even had a nice little putting green! I will definitely stay there again - hoping maybe in the Spring!

Super Property

Excellent, clean, modern, technologically current property. It all appears new and first class. It has a beautiful electronic fireplace. The owner communicates quickly to questions. A wonderful place to stay. The only aspect I didn’t like was the requirement to get mandatory insurance. An unnecessary expense. I have never seen this before at a VRBO. It effectively raises the price of the rental to an excessive price.

Loved it!

The Horse and Hare in was the perfect choice for our pre Thanksgiving family gathering! The house was immaculate and the decor was so well thought out, comfortable, and cute. It was a rainy weekend, but the reclining couch, chairs, and fireplace kept us cozy. The beds were super comfortable, shower luxurious, and the kitchen was not only beautiful but was stocked with all of the utensils and cookware we needed. The communication with the host was excellent and check in and out was a breeze. We were able to park in the garage which was very helpful in the rain. The walk to downtown is just a few minutes and there is a diner as well as a grocery store right across the street. If you are looking for a clean, cute, comfortable place to stay within walking distance to downtown Murphys, the Horse and Hare Inn your perfect choice!

A jewel of a property

We felt like we stepped into a particularly welcoming magazine spread. The attention to detail was impeccable, but still very approachable and welcoming. The property owner was attentive and accommodating. Can’t wait for an excuse to stay there again!

This house is gorgeous and has it all! My husband and I completely gutted the house and designed it to be the perfect Vacation Rental. It is accented with special touches, so you feel special when here. We spared no expense to make this a memorable stay!
