The Butterfly House is a charming, beautiful cabin located in a secluded area surrounded by green forest. Only a short walk to streams and creeks. The cabin is 10 minutes' drive from downtown La Fortuna, where you will find plenty of restaurants and nightlife. This house is a perfect place to rest and relax in between the fun variety of tourist activities (rafting, hiking, horseback riding, hot springs and much more) available in La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano.

Clean and had all supplies needed. Communication with host very good and responsive. Only complaint is that the couch is very uncomfortable to sit on
 not sure about fold out bed. Beautiful yard if weather permits sitting outdoors. Would stay again!

The actual house was wonderful, but the neighbors were awful! The kitchen had everything you would need. We enjoyed having coffee on the back bench and waking up with the view of the volcano and the beautiful cows and horses on the property behind the house. It is a short drive to any activity you'd like to explore. La Fortuna is such a cute town. We spent Friday night in town, and they had free painting under the pavilion for kids. We had such a great time at the hot springs, and the La Fortuna Waterfall is a MUST! Magical.The rating is lower because of the neighbors! We had to endure a party two nights in a row of awful karaoke with the speakers at full volume pointed toward the house. This lasted until 2 am. The host of the house did everything he could to try to help, with no luck. So again, I feel awful giving a lower rating because this is not the fault of the owner, but I would want to know this information before booking!

This is a really nice place. The property is just beautiful and the view from every direction is lovely. The house is well laid out and the hostess is very responsive and friendly. Getting in was a little confusing, but the hostess responded immediately and explained how to use the lock system. On the plus side of the lock system, we felt very safe in the house. I read some of the reviews that spoke of loud neighbors at night, but we did not experience that. There are some other things that make a difference too. For example, in some rentals here, when it storms (as it does almost every day in the afternoon) the sound is deafening. In this house, it didn't bother us at all. It is one of the only houses that has both a washer and dryer. The blinds are much nicer than big, dusty curtains. The location is really good. I would have stayed there forever but the shower is just awful. There is no pressure and it's almost like not having a shower at all. Given the heat and humidity and how much hiking you will want to do, a good shower is especially important.Other than that, it is a wonderful place to stay!

Beautiful home in a great area

The cabin style home was amazing, I stayed with my 3 kids for almost a week. The home was very equipped in the bathroom and kitchen. I cooked 1-2 times a day and had al the utensils and tools needed for the kitchen. The size of the area was perfect. The views were amazing. It felt like home for us. The kids explored the surrounding of the home. The prize was more than worth it as the home was great. The hosts were also really communicative. I had trouble getting there and they responded to me immediately. They even told me the fruit trees the property has and I could grab from it. I will for sure stay in the same house next time I’m in the area.

Property was calm, quiet and peaceful. It had ac which made it comfortable to be during warm humid climate. The property was only minutes away from center of La fortuna where shops and restaurants were located. We had minor inconvenience with the bathroom, but host was quick to address. We had a great time at the location!

Great stay away from the busy streets in La Fortuna

We loved everything about our stay here. Check in was easy. The house was clean on arrival. Was stocked with everything we may need. Everything worked well including washer and dryer. The best part was the back patio and the view (when the clouds break) along with the sounds of nature. Loved the location. Definitely need a car if staying here but a short 5-10 minute drive and you are in the heart of La Fortuna. I would definitely stay here again!

The place is amazing. Great view on Arenal volcano. Neighbors was listening to loud music for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed there.

Great place!

The property was very pleasant and clean, with beautiful outdoor space. We loved the location - removed from the hustle and bustle of the town but close enough to get there and to surrounding activities easily. Management was very responsive to any issues or questions. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Family Getaway

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay! The cabin had everything we needed; it was close to activities and dining. We had a little trouble finding the location because we did not have the Waze App and the Pin from the VRBO website brought us somewhere else.

LaFortuna Cabin

It was a great place to experience LaFortuna. It was close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shops downtown without having to deal with traffic and noise. There were plenty of nearby soda's that were also delicious. It was only a short drive to the Waterfall and the hot springs.

Wonderful accommodations

This place was great. The AC worked well, and it had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and we all got a good night's sleep.The only complaint I heard is there isn't enough seating in the living area for watching movies. The backyard was big and lots of birds spent time there. We did not see any other animals, but we were only there 3 nights.I would stay there again if I'm ever in the area.

Great experience!

The property was very clean! Anything questions we had were answered very quickly through WhatsApp. It was nice to know the owners are very attentive to your needs! It has everything we needed! It is about 10 minutes from town, but once you get used to the drive it gets easier. The road felt safe and no animals or critters came into the house (we were worried that might happen). Highly recommend this cute little place!

One of a kind

Just lovely. Host was helpful - providing lots of ideas for things to do, places to eat. House was a perfect size and in the perfect location. We made breakfast a few mornings - the kitchen was all stocked and easy to use. Everything is so close and easy to access from this home. La Fortuna is magical - we will be back.

Amazing quiet place

The cabin was beautiful! The owner and team were so helpful and responsive and even let us use their laundry facilities. The air conditioning was nice and cool and the whole house was very comfortable. Would recommend!
