Pelican Perch is truly your home away from home. With a sun deck on the back you can either catch some rays during the day or lie under the stars and listen to the waves crash upon the shoreline. When you have your fill of the stars you can retreat to the spacious studio designed living quarters featuring a king bed, open kitchen with breakfast bar and full bathroom with a shower / tub combo. In the morning take a walk along the sidewalks of Cape Canaveral plenty to see. When you return with an appetite grill a little something on the gas grill while lounging around the fire pit. This studio apartment makes it absolutely perfect for a short much needed R&R.

The place was as expected, but there are a number of issues that keep me from providing a higher rating. The toilet would keep running if the handle was not lifted. This was noted by a renter last year, so I am surprised it has not been addressed yet. One burner on the stove was not working. The listing indicated there was a hot tub. None to be found. The filter for the ac unit looks like it has not been replaced in a long time. The dishwasher did not appear to function correctly leaving a lot of water in the bottom. We even went online and found the operators manual to make sure we were operating it correctly. There are nails/screws popping up on the deck making walking hazardous. One of the lounge chairs on the deck is missing the back of the chair. The listing shows a gas grill in the photographs, but none was to be found. The TV often did not allow us to use as it said there were to many streams already in use. The stairs are a bit treacherous as the seem to lean forward on most treads. This could be a very nice unit, once these minor issues are addressed.

Black debris blew on to pillow and bed sheets from a/c and heat wall unit until the last day. Pillows and bed were pretty comfortable. Stairs angle so be super careful. Watched a satellite after launch, from private back porch. Lounge chairs on back porch have mesh that won’t stay in so I didn’t use that. 1.5 block walk to beach. Arrival instructions need to be updated as they say building is on right, but actually on left. Knowing this would have helped when arriving late at night. Having the door lock pad was nice. No need to carry a key. Parking driveway was nice size. Binder instructions said to use Roku remote. Looked awhile but no Roku remote.

Everything was as we had expected. My only note would be related to the directions provided by the rental company. Depending on where you are driving from, the rental may be on your left (directions say it’s on the right). Look for a very tropical/Key West-looking 2 story house. We parked in the driveway of a rando house not realizing our rental was right behind us across the street.

Pelican Perch was a cute and cozy studio for me and my husband, with a fully equipped kitchen and full bathroom. The bright and beachy blue interior design put us instantly at peace and got us into beach mode. We were so happy to be just a block from the white sandy beaches of Cape Canaveral. We also got to see a rocket launch from the back balcony and were able to see the entire trajectory of the rocket. We had a very memorable stay. The only improvement I can think of would be to request a larger pot and pan for cooking. My husband needs home-cooked food because if his dietary restrictions, and we had a difficult time working with the small pots and pans in the kitchen.

Perfect little beach getaway

This was really just a perfect little spot for two people. This spot is connected to a couple other smaller beach rentals, but this spot was the most private in our opinion. It had the couple of smaller necessities a couple might need for like cooking and whatnot so that was a nice touch. It is definitely an older residence, so keep that in mind if looking for a more modern looking stay. It has the perfect beach charm we were looking for and we truly can’t wait to come back to cocoa beach.

Cute place close to the beach

Cute little place just a block from the beach that's perfect for watching a rocket launch. Located in a quiet area but close enough to everything you may need.

My stay at the Pelican Perch

I enjoyed my stay. The room had a king size bed with plenty of room to maneuver around.Kitchenette had updated appliances even a small dishwasher. A exclusive porch off to the side and a little porch next to the entry door with table / chairs. Beach entrance was less than 500 yards away where I watched the falcon 9 lift off from NASA. Neighborhood quiet and very low traffic. To get this to this unit you have to go around the first two units that's next to the driveway, it's in the back at the top of the stairs. Full rating and would stay again and recommend.

cozy little place

We love Pelican Perch, a cozy place for a couple to get some soul time. Nice quiet neighborhood close to the beach. We will definitely be back soon.
