Lakefront Home on False River! Private Dock with 2 Story Pier & huge porch!

This home is a VRBO Guest favorite from a Premier host! Tons of space outside and beautiful accommodations inside as well! Inside the home has a large living room with flatscreen smart TV and fast WiFi. The kitchen is attached with a dining area. The kitchen has a new stove/oven combo, with air fryer setting , new microwave and a large fridge and freezer. Very open floor plan with easy access to a full bathroom. Down the hallway there are 3 bedrooms and another full bathroom with laundry room attached. The home has no carpet. All bedrooms recently received new wood floors. The larger bathroom has a new tub and tile surround shower with tile floors throughout. Exit onto the massive new 12x40’ covered front porch with seating and dining areas. Walk down the paved side walk to the private pier with upper deck. Property is located in walking distance to LA Express store and boat launch. Directly across from Sandbar! You can launch your boat and drive to the home then walk back to retrieve your vehicle and trailer. Paved trailer parking behind the home as well!

Our host was quick to respond and very easy to get in touch with. The house had everything that we needed and more, which wasn’t even mentioned. The back porch was amazing as was the 2 story pier. The location was also top notch as the only boat launch, convenient store, and restaurants for miles around was just a minute away. Also, to make things easier on us, we just paid to park our boat trailer at the launch during our stay. Our family can’t wait to go back!

Mardi Gras Stay

Enjoyed New Roads Mardi Gras and had a convenient place to stay after parades. Easy drive in to St. Francisville for dinner. House was very clean, owner was very responsive and overall just an easy/great stay!

GIRLS’ TRIP

The house is older, but was clean. We had plenty of room. Our favorite spot was the big porch—plenty of space and very cool in the evening. Andrew was very easy to communicate with.

Lovely, spacious home with a great pier for fishing and gathering. Multiple bedrooms for couples and quality linens for all.

The property was exceptionally clean and very well stocked. All the beds were extremely comfortable plenty of seating room, and a beautiful dock. Will try to revisit and bring our boat next time!

Nice place. Great view. Clean and orderly. Couldn’t find tv remote control but that was really the only negative. Driveway very steep and could be an issue for elderly renters. Overall a nice place. Not secluded at all but very quiet.

Great house on the main river!

Clean, well maintained house, comfortable beds, great view from house and back deck, great dock, super comfortable & inviting living area and easy communication with property owner. We were here just 1 night, in the off season, but could easily see that this property would be the place to be in the summer. Enjoy!

Spring Getaway

The house was perfect with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. Not much room to eat inside, but the back porch has a large table with benches. The porch overlooked the backyard and lake. Picket fence was cute and helped to keep the kiddos away from the water. A gate would be the only thing to make it better. The dock was great. Easy to park our party barge and still fish from the pier. Loved the 2-story deck but the chairs and tables were dirty from the birds. We definitely want to stay again.

I don’t like to be negative but we did see a couple of roaches last night. Also when I picked up my dirty clothes off the floor this morning there were a few ants. So possibly house needs exterminating. The AC wasn’t cooling very well yesterday afternoon but we slept comfy last night.The steep driveway is a little scary ! Also, some in our group didn’t want to walk out on the dock without a railing and the entrance steps should maybe have a side with rails, too. Otherwise we had a good visit and loved the False River/ St. Francisville area!

First Impression not so much


I gave this property 3 stars because the inside smelled great, was very clean, comfortable and cute. I just wish whoever is tending the inside was also tending the outside. The back porch and back yard were adorable in the pictures but the porch has not been cleaned in a long time and the grass is a foot high. The trash container was completely full and there was sheet metal in the driveway which is fine if they’re working on the house

The good: The property was absolutly beautiful. There were 7 of us and we had a fantastic time. The beds were comfortable and the a/c was fantastic. The deck on the water was really nice. We got to fish and play on the deck and in the water.The kitchen had adequate utensils and we cooked a few meals. The bad: The owner was not responsive at all. A message was sent to my text (I suspect automatic) giving me access code, info about the house and places to eat...The bad part: The house had 2 door but only 1 was accessible because the side door (which would have been easier to unload our stuff) was dead bolted. Many attempts were made to contact the host but we were unable to. No only was it inconvenient to not have that second door, it was a major hazard in the event of a fire we would not have been able to get out that door.Another thing I didn't care for (although host couldn't do anything about it) is the driveway is very steep and difficult to see oncoming traffic when pulling out onto the road.Yes, we had a good time, but it would have been better if host were responsive. Would I stay here again? If the host were available to answer my questions, I would say yes, If not, the answer would be NO.
