Poor Location and Safety Concerns

We chose this property because it offered ample space for our group and was conveniently located near the San Jose Sharks Ice facility. Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing.When we first arrived, the home had not been cleaned. After a long trip, walking into an unclean space was extremely frustrating and not the welcome we expected. To the host’s credit, they were communicative and responsive—they quickly arranged alternate accommodations for us for the first night before the rest of our party arrived, which we appreciated.However, the issues didn’t end there. The property is located right off a busy main road, which made it noisy and far from relaxing. More concerning, one morning we found a houseless woman sleeping in her truck in the driveway. When I asked her to leave, she argued that since it was a rental, she didn’t have to listen to me. The fact that she knew it was a short-term rental was unsettling and raised serious concerns about privacy and security.We informed the hosts about the situation, but they didn’t seem particularly concerned or proactive in addressing it.Aside from being near the Sharks Ice facility, this property did not meet our expectations. Given the safety concerns, location, and initial cleanliness issue, we would not choose to stay here again.

We were attending a business conference over the weekend & this house was perfect. Close to the convention center & the rooms are spread out with plenty of space.

San Jose Thanksgiving

The rental fit all of our needs. It was a little difficult to find (with me not being GPS savy). I also was not given check-in info until after we had arrived. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Familybgathering

The location was perfect for our needs, which included attending a football game at SJSU. Stadium was in walking distance as were a number of restaurants. The beds were very comfortable but the sofa beds were awful. The house is advertised as sleeping 21 but realistically accommodates only 10-12. I registered 18 people but only 14 bath towels and 2 washcloths were provided for a 4-night stay. Off-street parking was generous and accommodated all 4 vehicles that our party needed. Fruit trees in the back were a nice bonus. House aesthetics are not the best but the rental cost was very affordable.

Perfect location for Water Polo Jos

Well located VRBO close to highway to help us get our team to pool locations all over the Bay Area. Owners very responsive to questions. Beds were great, but the sleeper sofas could only sleep 1. Excellent parking- was a little difficult to spot the driveway due to street parked cars the first time, but after that it was easy.

Disappointed overall

Location of home is very convenient and comfortable beds. Clean property. However, fold-out sofa beds are of very poor quality/thin and too uncomfortable to be used. Kitchen poorly stocked for cooking. 5cup coffee pot inadequate for a property to host large groups. Biggest issues were finding a broken/nonfunctional refrigerator which required multiple texts to receive a response to - promised a refund (not received) but a much smaller frig was dropped off. Do not park in the back under the large tree - a large branch broke and fell, narrowly missing our rental. Message again sent to manager and no response.

Roomy but basic

The house is large and the bathrooms and kitchen are well renovated. The house is not in the best neighborhood and on a very busy street. The refrigerator had a bad smell and there was only a drip coffee machine.

Good house but bad management

House was good, but the management was horrible. There is absolutely no communications on check in instructions. Had to call the VRBO customer service post checkin time with 20 family members all waiting outside to see if we can get it. They tried reaching the owner but no answer as well. They then provide a code for the lock that was used during last checkin and that worked to get us into the house. I am truly disappointed with the management and VRBO for not screening property their applicants. Only bright part was that the house was in a good shape,clean etc. Not enought towels for the 20 people it can house though.
