The house in Southwest Harbor was a fabulous location for all things to do in Acadia National Park. Close to downtown, trails and sights. The house was stocked very well and was very clean with plenty of supplies (towels, toilet paper, paper towel, etc.). The wifi worked well. Communicating with Bart was easy and responses were almost immediate. We had a great time at this place and would not hesitate to rent again the next time we are in the area.

Great location…walkable to town, great sunrises, harbor view, and deer in yard every morning. Property well stocked with plenty of room and floors for everyone to find a place to call their own or gather together.

Absolutely loved this home! Spotless from top to bottom and very tasteful decor. Plenty of space for the family to spread out. We liked that the tv was on the lower level, giving our family a chance to unplug in the main level shared space. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for home meals, including essentials like salt, pepper, oil, etc. Would definitely stay here again!

Very clean house in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to all the areas. No central air and it was warm on a couple of the days, especially in the upstairs rooms but box fans are available in each room. Description is not clear about the layout. One of the three full bathrooms is downstairs in the kitchen which was inconvenient. Upstairs there is two bedrooms with one bath and the bathroom is not connected to either room. The bedroom in the basement has a bathroom connected to it.

Thank you for acknowledging our home’s cleanliness, quiet location, and convenience to town. For future guests, we’d like to clarify that our listing clearly states the home does not have air conditioning. This stay took place in October, with daytime temperatures around 60°F and nighttime temperatures in the 40s. Many homes on Mount Desert Island do not have air conditioning, as cool coastal breezes naturally help keep temperatures comfortable, even during the summer. Fans are also provided in every bedroom. We’d also like to clarify that the bedroom described as being in a “basement” is actually a ground-floor walkout bedroom with direct access to a patio overlooking beautiful Somes Sound. The home has three full bathrooms, one on each of the first three floors, plus an additional half bathroom on the fourth floor. This layout is detailed in our listing and provides ample space and convenience, particularly for a group of just three guests.

The house was lovely, clean, and in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was just as described. The view from the deck is great to watch the sunrise. We loved being able to walk into Southwest Harbor to restaurants and shops, and to catch the Acadia shuttle. This house was a perfect home base to explore Acadia and the surrounding area.

Great stay in Southwest Harbor!

The house listing was accurate. The house was very clean, well-stocked, had pretty views of the harbor. We loved the short walking distance into town to the local restaurants and shops. The location on Mt. Desert Island was great for visiting Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and other local stops. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!

Wonderful place in SW Harbor

We just had a really nice week of hiking, biking and relaxing on MDI and Southwest Sun was a great home in a great location. We had plenty of room, sunrise views were really awesome and it was very easy to get to anywhere we wanted to go. The owner was easy to reach and very responsive to our questions. Our whole family would recommend this home.

Great Retreat

We’re a remote team that wanted to connect in person, enjoy some great food, and incredible scenery. We stayed here for an extended weekend while we visited the park, engaged in team building, and planned for upcoming changes. The house set the perfect tone and was a wonderful home base for our adventures. It was beautiful, spacious, well-appointed, and a fantastic location!

This was our second year at Southwest Sun for a memorable family vacation. The home is a great fit for our family and we love the SW Harbor location. There's so much to do nearby but when we want to venture to Acadia 'proper' for biking, hiking, etc. it is easy to get there too. The home is well-equipped and has great views of the harbor. There's plenty of space for all of us to be together for meals but also ample places to get some privacy if you want.

Southwest sun was beautiful! Very clean and the best stocked rental house I’ve stayed in. There were plenty of extra towels, all the kitchen amenities you could need (my daughter has a lot of food allergies so we cook all our meals when we travel), and even games to play. There were multiple balconies with a beautiful view of the harbor. The location was close walking distance to downtown with easy parking for both our cars. Also great location to the national park, made for a short drive back at the end of the day. There were also many great trail guides and book in the house which was a very thoughtful addition. Bart was very easy to communicate with and replied promptly. Also very minimal checkout requirements which made the end of our trip much easier. There are a lot of stairs in the house, but it actually worked out well for our family to have bedrooms on multiple levels so we could put my daughter to bed early and not hear the noise from the rest of the family. We had a such a great time here and would definitely stay again!

My family and I loved staying here. The supplies were well-stocked, plenty of towels available, great location - walkable to Southwest Harbor restaurants and shops, and an easy drive to Bar Harbor. The views of the sunrises over the harbor were beautiful, especially from the upper loft. Very spacious and comfortable. My mom (our personal traveling Mimi) appreciated having the suite downstairs to have her own space. We felt safe, and appreciated that the hosts had the lights on when we arrived late. The place is well-decorated and comfortable. The host was quick to respond if we had questions. Check-out was a breeze with more than reasonable expectations of guests. Highly recommend!

Great vacation! The rental was not far from doing all things Bar Harbor. Having some space away from the Harbor crowd was appreciated. Also great places within walking distance of the rental. The home had everything we needed and was clean and ready for us. Our family of five had a great time!
