We had an amazing stay! The cabin is incredibly cozy and makes the perfect getaway for a small group. Everything was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

WONDERFUL GETAWAY!!

This place is amazing. Everything is beautiful. So many fun things to do. We all had such a great time. We really enjoyed the sauna, pool table and the indoor pool and kids nook. Nice area for spreading out, comfortable beds. I love that there's a 2nd fridge in the basement. Everything was very well though out for an amazing family time. Everything we needed in the perfect setting.

I recently retired from a career in hospitality and my husband wanted to do something special to celebrate. We invited 4 couples to join us that we have been friends with for 35 years. At this point of our life some of our guests had medical issues so we did not participate in the typical outdoor winter sports. We had a fun adventure in Bellaire and simply relaxed and enjoyed the house/ outdoor sauna.

MAGICAL

I can’t say enough good things about this property and the hosts. Driving into Shanty Creek is like driving into a German Christmas Fairy Tale. The snow, the A-Frame houses, the quiet, it’s stunning. The house (and I cannot stress this enough) was IMMACULATE. My mother was impressed (and she’s difficult to impress!) Everything was so comfortable and cozy, and our favorite part was how well stocked the kitchen was. My sister and I are professional chefs and we came up here specifically to spend time with our immediate family, play games, hunt, and cook amazing food. I have never been in any rental property with such a beautiful and well stocked kitchen. they even had beautiful stemmed wine glasses (and we brought up A LOT of wine) and proper bourbon high balls! All in all, this was an absolutely perfect experience and we cannot wait to book again next year. PS
 Thanks for sending the snow. It was the cherry on top.

A+ for A Frame of Mind

Wow is the best word to use. This place was as accurate as the pictures showed and the owners had everything we needed for a nice 5 day stay. The design of it all was top notch. The furniture was great to sit in. The place smelled great and was clean and comfy. So relaxing and quiet in the woods it was the perfect escape and the drive to TC was only 50 minutes to spend part of the day there. We’ll for sure be booking this place again next year and the communication with James was great.

Wonderful stay

Stayed at this property with 3 families including 8 kids. There was enough space for everyone. The downstairs game room was perfect for the kids. The adults were able to enjoy our time upstairs and on the deck. Just a beautiful home and great location. Looking forward to coming back to A-Frame of Mind.

Beautiful Stay in the Up North Woods

What a perfect spot for our far flung family to reconnect! We loved the A-frame! The kitchen was well equipped for our family meals and the bedrooms were great (the 3 kids slept in the bunk room-fun!). We made good use of the game table, pool table, and even the sauna. We also enjoyed day trips to several local places, even seeing the Blue Angels in Traverse City! Highly recommend this beautiful place.

Family Get Away

We loved our stay at the "A-frame of Mind"! There was plenty of room and it was beautifully decorated without feeling fussy. The game room and old school video game unit were enjoyed by everyone in the family! Well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates, glasses and silverware for all 8 of us. The location is gorgeous and close to Bellaire and Alden, both cute small towns! The men in the family lived using the sauna. We got to see the Blue Angels in Traverse City, drove back to Grayling to canoe the AuSable, and ate fudge, cherries, and s'mores around the fire. Michigan up north at its best!

Perfect for 2 families!

We loved this house! We came up north with 5 kids and 4 adults. The way the house is set up was perfect. The downstairs had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and super cool rec room. The kids loved playing the Pac-Man video game and our husbands enjoyed the Atari. 🙂 Upstairs was bright and airy, the views from the loft area were beautiful. There were plenty of seats for eating, a large island, and comfortable couches for relaxing. Everything was extremely clean. A cool extra was the sauna. Super fun!

Beautiful cabin in the woods!!!

What a beautiful place. Everything seemed new and in great shape. The house was spacious with lots of places to spread out and felt really cozy at the same time. The kitchen was central and had all the essentials we needed. There was a bedroom and bathroom on all 3 levels which was perfect for all the ladies. Jim was great at communication when we had questions. Would love to return in the summer to golf and sit around the fire.
