The Comfy Carriage House

Enjoy a quiet and cozy stay in the modern and comfy carriage house flat. This bright, clean, second-floor unit sits on a beautiful 2 acre residential property along the White River. While we do live up the driveway, the carriage house is a completely separate dwelling and very private!
It is also within easy access of many Indianapolis hot spots such as Broad Ripple Village, Carmel City Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Fun fact: this comfy carriage house was initially built in the early 1900's to actually house a horse-drawn carriage and its driver!
While we can certainly promise this modern unit does not maintain any barn-like qualities, we welcome you to enjoy this spacious and newly renovated accommodation.
This 1 bed, 1 bath second-floor space also includes a couch that converts to a pull-out bed to welcome additional guests.
Washer and dryer units are also available within the unit, making this an optimal option for long-term stays.

The place was lovely. Clean, comforting, the perfect little getaway. Host gave perfect instructions and everything worked perfectly. Lovely little touches like the puzzles and games made the stay so homey and cozy.

Possibly the best VRBO experience we've had. The apartment was fantastic. Owner goes above and beyond in providing everything a short-term tenant would need and want. Will stay here again when we visit Indianapolis.

A quiet, peaceful retreat along the White River in the middle of Indianapolis. Many amenities and extras provided for you and your dogs so that the whole family feels welcome. The neighborhood feels like a step back into river culture history, and the renovated carriage house is indeed comfortable and cozy! A great spot for a getaway!

Broad Ripple Art Fair

We stayed at the Comfy Carriage House while showing at the Broad Ripple Art Fair. Very convenient location, just the right size for two adults, and host was very clear & friendly with communication and very accommodating. Really enjoyed the stay!

The house was welcoming, homey and very clean! In a great spot and felt safe. The coffee/tea bar and the extra amenities added (water bottles, ice machine, makeup wipes, etc.) were a great touch and an added bonus to our stay! The host was very accommodating with offering a later checkout time and super friendly! 10/10 recommend and would definitely stay again!

The overall feel and cleanliness of this VRBO was great. It was as cozy as advertised. However, the beds were quite uncomfortable. The bedroom bed was incredibly firm and the pullout was outright unusable. We actually left a day early just to sleep in our own beds. Other than this, it was an excellent stay.

Lovely Accommodations

The carriage house was just as described. Great space, lovely decorations, comfortable bed, kitchen and living spaces were perfect for 1 or 2 people. Hosts left snacks for me and my two small dogs.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this charming carriage house with our rescue dog. The space is bright, spotless, and thoughtfully updated while still retaining a touch of its early‑1900s character. Even though the owners live up the driveway, the unit feels completely private and peaceful—exactly what we were hoping for.The location was perfect for our Christmas trip to visit family. It’s quiet and secluded, yet just a short drive to Broad Ripple, Carmel, and downtown Indianapolis. Inside, the flat is spacious and comfortable, with everything you need for a short visit or a longer stay. The bedroom is cozy, the living area is inviting, and the pull‑out couch is a great bonus for additional guests. Having an in‑unit washer and dryer was incredibly convenient.Our dog was thrilled to find her own welcome cabinet stocked with nice metal food and water bowls, plus a throw blanket in case she wanted to cuddle up with us.Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay—modern, clean, private, and full of charm. We’d happily return.
