Located in Buxton, the vibrant center of Hatteras Island, Emily is just a stone’s throw from local restaurants, ice cream shops, shopping, and the sparkling ocean—making it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer.

Emily offers all the comforts of a modern beach getaway. The roomy sleeping area features a king bed and a full futon, comfortably accommodating up to three guests. There’s also a simple table with seating for two, perfect for enjoying meals or your morning coffee. Refresh in the modern full bathroom.

The convenient kitchenette is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot—please note, there is no sink. Whether you’re preparing a quick breakfast or brewing your morning coffee, you’ll find everything you need for a relaxed stay. As one of ten independent Airbnb units in the building, your space is private and tranquil.

Pleasant experience overall. Proximity to shopping was great. We chose to drive down to frisco as the beach was better there for our needs. Would stay here again for the price.

Listing was extremely misleading it was one small room with a bathroom and the pull out couch was terrible hardly enough room for one person and extremely uncomfortable, the towels where stained and had long black hair all over them along with the bed, there was mold on the floor and a dead bed bug in the bed along with a carpet beetle and we killed a few cockroaches. No trash bags were supplied along with only one roll of toilet paper, not a huge deal but kind of a pain. I’ve stayed in nicer hotel rooms for half the price.

Location is nice, although be careful about the Buxton beaches. They seem to be closed often due to the failing beach front properties. The listing misrepresents the actual room, by showing a totally different room as if it is also part of Emily. The pullout couch they list is not an actual full size and would not even fit two kids. The actual manger of the property (nothost) is a superstar who saves the day for us. She is great.

We had a great overnight stay. The room was plenty big enough with the perfect amount of amenities. Super cute. Will definitely rent again in the future.

Clean and cool

Our room was clean and the a/c kept us nice and cool despite the 109 degree heat index. The beach was a short 4 min walk away. The area seemed peaceful and quiet.

This was our 2nd time staying there. For the most part it’s clean, great location to the beach. But if we decide to go back I will bring my own tools for repairs and extra trash bags. The shower handle was messed up and only one trashcan with one bag. I let them know the shower handle was messed up and all I got was a Thanks for letting me know, not offering or willing to fix it during our stay. And when I asked about trash bags I was told that only enough is provided to get started and not for the whole stay. We love the outer banks. But it might be time to find a new place for next time.

Listing pictures misleading

The best aspect of the property is the proximity to the beach. It is a 2 minute walk. The room was cool and clean. However, the listing was very misleading, in that the pictures for every unit depict a living area as well. It is not clear on the website that it is a community room only and each unit is only a bedroom. Found out when we checked in that this is a community living area, and the property felt more like a hotel room. There was no kitchen access either. Found out when we checked in that only one unit has kitchen access. The decking area was very dirty and had not been wiped down or grills cleaned. There were ashtrays and neighbors in rooms next door who smoked. As a non-smoker and someone who is allergic to smoke, this was very discouraging.
