Beautiful "quiet Queen Anne" home close to the Village with large green lawns sweeping toward the sea on one of the largest lots in town (30,000 sq ft). Savor a classic summertime experience with recently renovated cook's kitchen designed in harmony with original Victorian era woodwork and charm. Wraparound porches for outdoor living include a screened side porch for dining, consistently cool ocean breezes, and panoramic views of Narragansett Bay from Newport Pell Bridge to Newport Harbor. Short 4 minute walk to East Ferry shops, restaurants, and beaches. Views from your private porch of the July 4 fireworks and frequent sailing races. Spectacular second floor "lookout" on spacious landing between the bedrooms. Rooms can be rearranged upon request with different bed configurations to suit your family's needs. Ample street and off-street parking (shared with separate cottage in rear of property); privacy hedges; enclosed outdoor shower; outdoor grill. Well behaved dogs of any size are welcome; invisible fence and compatible collars available if desired.
Property is handy to Mackerel Cove Beach, the spectacular Beavertail Lighthouse State Park and its trails, Fort Wetherill cliffs and scuba diving, Battery nature trail, Marsh Meadows Wildlife Preserve and birdwatching, historic windmill, colonial Quaker meeting house, and many local organic farms (Windmist, Watson, Hodgkiss and Godena pollinator preserve).
If you feel called to go "off island," you are 12 minutes by car to downtown Newport or a short walk to the ferry running direct to downtown Newport; bypass Newport Bridge and downtown traffic and have the ferry captain be your designated driver on evenings out on the town. On the mainland side you are 15 minutes to Wickford or Narragansett. Jamestown is an ideal central location to explore every part of Narragansett Bay by boat or car.
Hosts are friendly local islanders and happy to answer questions and point you toward the many treasures our island has to offer.

Great stay! Perfect Location!

Our family had a wonderful stay. The house was exactly as shown, full kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, perfect views of the water, good location to get around the island by bike, walking or car. Don was a great host, very responsive and helpful. We will be back!

Wonderful property ! As beautiful as the photos!Cool ocean breezes blowing through at all times, no need for AC. Large yard was great for the dog.Screened Porch was the best !!Was sad to leave , but will definitely be back. Great family and friends stay. Upstairs view was spectacular.

Don made sure that we had a fabulous time at this fabulous property. Our 2 families had an amazing time due to Don's guidance and hospitality. Pro tip - Ask Don for a great tour on his 42' sailboat, Loon. Highly recommend!!!

Awesome house for a family celebrating graduation of naval officer

Eclectic, fun, amazing house. Short walk to rearaurants, view of the water was fun watching the lightning strikes. Sat for hours on the porch just talking. Grand had an awesome time exploring the house and the yard.. Don was an amazing host.

Excellent experience

It isn't often that a host understates his property but this is one of those times. The views, the home, the neighborhood were just terrific. The home was specious and comfortable with everything we needed either in walking distance or a very short drive. Host and experience was very laid back, just as a vacation should be. I would definetly recommend this property.

The kitchen was infested with both live and dead ants. There was black mold growing in the shower. There were two dirty pet beds, covered with pet hair in the living area. The towels and bed linens felt damp and smelled like mildew. There were no blinds or curtains in the main bedroom or main bathroom leaving no area to dress without being seen by neighbors. All of the furniture was old and looked like it came from Goodwill. The patio furniture looked old and was covered with mismatched blankets.

Ant traps set by owner who then accused us of putting them out.
Black mold in shower.
Black mold in kitchen sink.
