Lazy Oak Cottage

Lazy Oak Cottage is located in the beautiful Sun Retreats Crystal River. We are located five miles from the Gulf of Mexico where you can drop your boat, kayak or paddle board for a day out on the water. From mid October to late March you can swim with the manatees. If it's a summer trip you had in mind, you are right in time for scalloping season, which runs from July1st through late September. The city is home to many wonderful restaurants, several that can also be reached by boat. If shopping is your pleasure Heritage Village, downtown Crystal River has many unique shops. The area also has several antique shops, flea markets, festivals, art shows, rodeos and concert series throughout the year. Recently Citrus County has grown in retail shopping with several chain stores and restaurants opening in Lecanto which is just a quick 4 miles from the Campground. Stores included in the expansion are Hobby Lobby, Target, Petsmart, Sketchers and Aldi’s. Texas Roadhouse, Glory Days Grill, Panda Express, Starbucks and Panera Bread are some of our new restaurants, just to name a few. Lazy Oak Cottage is privately owned by my husband Steve and I and are in no way affiliated with Sun Retreats. We own the cottage but rent the lot, therefore we must ask our guests to stop in the Welcome Center to let the office know that you have arrived and receive a copy of the park rules. We pay the resort fees so that all our guests can use the amenities. The cottage has it’s own free high speed internet. The community pool and hot tub are next to the Welcome Center. The club house adjoins the pool area and has rest rooms, a pool table and a foozeball table. There is also a dog park with two fenced in areas, a shuffle board court, playground and horse shoe pits. My husband Steve and I live across the street in our 5th wheel. We will be around if you should need anything or have any questions. The cottage has many flowers and plants that do need to be watered regularly along with the grass that needs to be mowed but other than that we will in no way bother you during your stay. The cottage has local pamphlets along with our Facebook (Lazy Oak Cottage) page that will give you ideas of what to do and where to go during your stay. The cottage although small has all the comforts of home. The kitchen has all stainless appliances, including a microwave, dishwasher, air fryer, blender and electric hand mixer. We have all the necessary pots and pans to cook any meal you can think of along with the necessary utensils, pizza pan, casserole dish, bread pans and pie plates. For spices we supply the most basic: salt, pepper, onion salt, garlic salt and hot sauce. Anything you need that we do not supply, just ask and most likely we have it in our home to accommodate you. The living area has FlexStone recliner rocker and FlexStone couch with recliners on each end. The 55” Samsung smart TV is mounted on the wall with a full motion swivel above the electric fireplace. The cottage has central heat and A/C but for chilly mornings the fireplace is great if you don’t need the heat but just want to take the chill out of the air. There is also a ceiling fan in the living area with multi speeds. The round dining table seats four and is a drop leaf, saving space when not being used. The bedroom has a queen bed with a medium support Serta mattress with a 100% cotton quilted mattress pad to keep you cool and comfortable. All linens, extra pillows and extra blankets are supplied. The wall above the bed has cabinets as well as storage inside the two nightstands. Above the 8 drawer bureau is a 46” Samsung Smart TV mounted on a move out arm. The closet has a top wire shelf, hangers for your clothes, wooden shoe rack and additional drawers below the closet. The bedroom also has a ceiling fan with multi speeds. The bathroom does not have a medicine cabinet so we have hung shelves for your toiletries and there is some storage under the bathroom sink. The compact stackable washer and dryer are in the bathroom. We supply kitchen and bath towels but you will have to wash your towels as you use them as we do not have laundry service. We will supply you with a package of toilet paper but after that you will need to supply your own. The same for paper towels, we will start you with a new roll. We will also have some laundry detergent, hand soap and dishwasher pods for your convenience to get you going. There will be cleaning products and sponges available should you be in need during your stay, that has always been one of my issues when we rent. Outside the picnic table has been placed centrally from the back door in hopes of making outdoor mealtime more convenient. There is a commercial charcoal grill next to the picnic table should you decide to cook your meals outside. The backyard has a gazebo on patio pavers with chairs and a propane fire pit should you want to relax out by the gardens. There is a single and double wooden swing out there also giving you options as to where you want to enjoy the outdoors at Lazy Oak Cottage!
