Boulder Run Lodge is a large 6 bedroom/3 bathroom, 3 level A-Frame cabin with the perfect mix of seclusion and accessibility. It is surrounded by towering bluffs of Allamakee County’s driftless area and located just 2Boulder Run Log Cabin w/ Hot Tub and Pool miles South of the river resort town of Lansing, Iowa. The lodge provides an ideal getaway for large families, couples, or corporate retreats. Equipped with a XL swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, fenced in backyard, master loft suite upstairs, and a large wood burning stove.
*****Due to staff shortage & lack of a Large Laundry facility we currently have the cleaning fee discounted for renters to bring their own SHEETS, TOWELS, & PILLOWCASES or we may be able provide in certain situations for an extra fee.

The family had a blast. I would definitely recommend if you have a big group. It's peaceful out at this cabin and I may just have to go back again someday. The host was great, very friendly and was very helpful.

I booked this in a spur of the moment decision knowing I needed a week away from work, the city life ( I was born a country gal) and some "me" time... it was more than I expected. I'm glad I picked it! The description was very honest, it is not a Ritz-Carlton by any means, which they do state that, (So I packed according to their description) but can (and probably has) accommodate quite a large group! The pool was huge, I spent most of my week in it, and on the deck reading, in privacy & the quietness of nature. I couldn't have asked for a better remote place in the country, but yet minutes away from Lansing if I needed anything. (I went there once) I felt a little guilty for staying in the 6 bedroom home by myself, so I ended up having my daughter from WI. Come down a couple nights, and ended up going back to Decorah and getting my brother to stay a couple nights. (He'd only planned on staying one, until he saw it) They all loved it. I will definitely recommend it, and hope to return... I bet it's even more beautiful in the fall surrounded by color

Enjoyable!

Good property and everyone had an enjoyable stay. Wasn't completely clean when we arrived but the host had messaged us the day of that there had been a huge mess left by the previous guests and the cleaners might have missed some things so it was forgivable.

We booked for a family retreat, 5 adults and 6 kids. It slept all of us comfortably. There had been some recent weather so the pool needed tlc when we got there. After cleaning out the leaves and stirring up the bottom, the filter did its job. The cabin was in disrepair but liveable. Bare necessities as far as soap/paper towels/toilet paper , so bring more if you are staying longer than a weekend. We brought food to make all our meals . The stovetop has trouble getting warm enough to boil water so plan for extended cooking times. It was nice to have a grill.The hot tub was throwing a code and needed the filters cleaned and water added which the host came and fixed. By the time it cleared up enough to use, it was our last day. The area around the hottub and firepit was full of dead weeds and the grass was long. The kittens were a hit with the children and added to our vaca. It could have been cleaner, dust, someone's old eye contacts on the headboard, dirty moldy smelling dishes in the dishwasher but overall we enjoyed our stay made the most of it. The variety store in Lansing has everything you might need!

Nice location

We had 3 families with kids staying at the property. The location was great and the kids and adults enjoyed the hot tub. Cabin could use a little TLC. Dishes were pretty dirty with dried food and multiple light bulbs needed changing. With a little TLC it could be really nice!

Plenty of room in the cabin. Lights didn't work or no light bulbs at all. Kitchen sink spray didn't work and the faucet leaked all over the counter. The main floor bathroom outlet did not work. The lightswitch in the bathroom downstairs was bad. The curtains were falling down. No plug in the sink for the kichen disposal. No instructions or communication were given or left for us. And overall the cabin was very dirty. It was a good thing we brought pretty much our house supplies to stay there which we definitely overpaid for. Will not return again or will not suggest it to others.
