3 stars because we cancelled our stay but the host was very helpful.We stayed at these apartments 10 years ago and were looking forward to the private location and easy walk through a field of grass to the quiet and secluded beach.  Instead, we found major construction has taken over the area and the path was blocked off with a huge pile of dirt.We tried to give it a fair chance but quickly realized that this was not going to work for us: weâd have to keep all the doors and windows shut to block out the noise and getting to the beach was an unpleasant walk. We notified the host as soon as we found a new hotel stay and offered to pay a cleaning fee for the day since we used the facilities. The host was very cooperative and gave us a full refund. It was a bit of an inconvenience to work with VRBO to initiate the cancellation but in the end, it did go through.We feel bad for the owners here; itâs not their fault. But if we had known ahead of time that the construction was happening, we could have made an informed decision (there are probably folks who wouldnât be bothered by it). Weâre not sure whatâs going to go here but we hope for the owners that itâs a park or if itâs a resort that they donât completely block the view and will allow the public direct beach access. And that the new pristine buildings end up making things more beautiful and accessible without overcrowding or taking away from the charm that we remember.
