Welcome to your Norfolk beach getaway—just a short 5-minute walk to Chesapeake Bay Beach and designed for comfort, connection, and easy living. Spend your days by the water, then come home to a bright, open space perfect for relaxing with family and friends.
The main living area flows into a fully equipped kitchen and dining space, making it easy to cook, gather, and unwind together. Walk upstairs to find multiple bedrooms, that give everyone room to spread out, while the fenced yard offers a great space for kids and approved pets to play.

GUEST ACCESS
When you stay in this home, you’ll have the entire space to yourself, so settle in and feel at home. A personalized code provides easy access to the front door. Parking is free and convenient, with space for two mid-size vehicles in the garage and two more in the driveway. Please note, a maximum of four vehicles is allowed on the property, as street parking is not available.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE / HOUSE RULES
There are cameras on the exterior of the home. They are motion activated, record video and audio, and are active during reservations. There is also a decibel monitoring device located in the home. This is a smart device that measures decibel levels only and allows us to respond to extremely loud and sustained volumes. It does NOT record conversation, it only measures decibel levels. This helps us to avoid unauthorized parties. Our goal is for our guests and neighbors to both have an enjoyable experience!
By booking, guests agree to all house rules below. Violations may result in immediate cancellation without refund, removal, and additional charges.
• MAX OCCUPANCY & VISITORS Occupancy may never exceed the maximum listed. All visitors must be included in the guest count. Undisclosed guests incur a $50/person/night fee and may result in cancellation without refund.
• NO PARTIES OR EVENTS (ZERO TOLERANCE) No parties, events, gatherings, or unregistered visitors. This includes exceeding occupancy, excessive noise, decorations, DJs, catering, event-style setups, or disruptive behavior. Suspected or confirmed parties will result in immediate termination without refund and a $500 minimum penalty plus damages, fines, and related costs. No warning required. Law enforcement may be contacted.
• QUIET HOURS 9:00 PM – 8:00 AM. Repeated disturbances may result in cancellation without refund.
• CAMERAS & NOISE MONITORING Exterior cameras and decibel-only noise monitors are in use. No interior recording devices.
• PETS House-trained dogs over 1 year old permitted with pre-approval only (no cats). Provide dog details before booking. Pet fee: $100 per 10 nights; 30+ nights: $250/month. Dogs must be crated when unattended indoors and supervised outdoors (no unattended yard time). Guests must remove pet waste or a $75 fee applies. Undisclosed/unapproved pets will be charged double the pet fee per night and may result in cancellation.
• NO SMOKING No smoking or vaping indoors. $500 minimum remediation fee. Smoke outdoors away from doors/windows.
• GRILL Clean after use or $75 fee applies.
• LATE CHECKOUT Unauthorized late checkout: $75/hour. Additional costs may apply if it impacts incoming guests.
• UTILITIES Use responsibly. Excessive usage beyond normal residential levels may be billed at actual cost.
• PLUMBING Flush toilet paper only. Guest responsible for misuse-related repairs.
• AMENITIES Ice makers, fireplaces, WiFi, internet, streaming services, and utilities are convenience amenities. Interruptions beyond host control do not qualify for refunds.
• COASTAL PEST DISCLOSURE Located in Coastal Virginia. Despite regular pest control, occasional insects may occur and are not grounds for refund. Keep doors/windows closed.
• DEVICE TAMPERING Tampering with cameras, noise monitors, locks, or safety devices is prohibited and may result in cancellation without refund.
• PROPERTY CARE Excessive cleaning (trash, bodily fluids, smoke odor, glitter, pet waste, biohazards, etc.) will incur charges. Guests are responsible for damages and missing items.
• TRASH & MAIL Excess trash may incur hauling fees. No mail delivery or establishing residency at the property.
• KEYS & PARKING Lost key: guest pays locksmith/rekey costs. Lost parking pass (if provided): $100 fee.
• HVAC Do not tamper with thermostats or equipment.
• RESTRICTED AREAS No access to mechanical rooms, roof, or non-guest areas.
• VERIFICATION Guests may be required to complete encrypted ID verification, provide ID, confirm guest count, and purpose of stay. Reservations may be declined or canceled for objective risk factors. We do not discriminate on any protected basis.
• SHORT-TERM STATUS (VA) Stays under 90 nights are short-term lodging only and do not create tenancy or residency rights.
• ASSUMPTION OF RISK Guests agree to use the property safely and lawfully.
• HOST ACCESS Exterior lawn and trash services may occur during your stay.
• LONG-TERM STAYS 60+ days: cleaning required every 30 days. 90+ days: application, screening, signed lease, and deposit required. Bookings over 90 days are brokered by Sojourn Realty.
• WEATHER Snow removal not provided. No refunds for weather-related events. Travel insurance is recommended.

Sheila’s by the Sea! Best family house ever!
Great stay at Sheila’s by the sea. Plenty of room for family. Big kitchen and living room that is close to beach and Bay Oak Park. Bedrooms are great!

Early Family Christmas
My son recently moved to Norfolk with the Navy. My daughter and her partner and my husband and I came to see his new home and spend holiday time together. We spent lots of time playing games and eating together. The house is so roomy and bright and airy. We were close to things like the Botanical Gardens, Art Museum

Christmas Week - 2024
The property was exactly as “advertised” in photos - well appointed, extremely clean, spacious, very close to the beach, etc.Property management was fantastic and even stepped up to help when we inadvertently triggered a remote alarm. On Christmas Day, a manager helped us figure out and deactivate the alarm, and helped with a smile, a sense of humor and patience.As for neighborhood, I’m from Norfolk but haven’t lived there since college. As a rule when we visit home/family, we prefer to stay in Ocean View because you get beach access without the extreme tourist crowds and over-pricing of neighborhoods near the Virginia Beach oceanfront. East Ocean View has evolved for the better steadily over the years, and of all the parts of East Ocean View we’ve vacation-rented in, this was the best - cleanest, quietest, nicest (2/3 of the properties on this and surrounding blocks are new construction or nice/recent renovations). We felt comfortable and safe walking our dog in the neighborhood. The walk to the beach was less than 5 minutes.Everything was great! One very, very, very minor critique (but definitely nothing that changes our five-star review!): the house could use a few more kitchen utensils.
