This 3 bedroom, 2 bath plus loft and office space is the ultimate waterfront mountain escape! Privately located on the north side of Vallecito Lake, just .5 miles to the trail heads of the San Juan National Forrest, 3mi to Vallecito Lake and 40 minutes to downtown Durango, the cabin offers a rustic feel with modern conveniences. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and stunning river rock fireplace. Relax in the hammock creek side and dine al fresco on the back deck with roar of the creek in the background. Take a dip in the mountain spring water, fly fish, or start a game of horseshoes.

The cabin layout includes the following: Fully outfitted kitchen, full size washer & dryer, living /dining room overlooking the creek. 2 bedrooms with king beds on the first floor with a full bath and oversized shower. Upstairs is a 3rd bedroom offering a queen bed and small ensuite bath in addition to the loft with double bed and desk. Outside enjoy the spacious deck, outdoor dining area and comfy chairs, hammock & swing.

Endless local activities include hiking up the creek along the miles & miles of trails via the Vallecito Creek campground in the San Juan National Forest, venture around in ATV’s up to 12,000’+ elevation via Middle Mountain Road, fishing, kayaking, boat riding on the crystal clear Vallecito Creek Reservoir. Road trip to Durango where additional shopping, dining, white water rafting & steam train await. There is also a full gym in nearby Bayfield that offers week long gym pass use.

For the cooler months, the cabin is fully stocked with split firewood (Texas oak, cedar & pine) and warm blankets while you take in the absolutely beautiful Fall color. The cabin also has a propane heater and fireplace with heatilator.
