One of the original houses built after Noto’s earthquake of 1693, Lady Packard’s Penthouse has been thoroughly and freshly renovated and modernized by Noto’s preeminent designer, Samuele Mazza, whose studio boutique is located on the corner. The house has a clean, bright, modern look, while retaining classic local elements. The floors are a beautiful marriage of typical antique decorative tiles, framed by luminous blonde stone from the nearby Modica quarries. Sleek design pieces combine seamlessly with local antiques to create a unique upscale Sicilian experience.

The house is like an art gallery with eye candy everywhere. There are spectacular paintings and sculpture throughout the home made by talented local artists and artisans. And there are even a few paintings made by Lady Packard and some special items from her collections.

Sleeping 6 adults in 3 separate bedrooms, with an additional baby cot, high chair, and other baby essentials upon request, the Penthouse is perfect for a family holiday or a friends getaway. The bedrooms which are set apart from each other offer privacy, while common spaces, both indoor and outdoor, comfortably fit everyone at once. The indoor dining table seats 8 while the marble dining table on the terrace seats 6. Both of those are also among several possible working areas. Additionally, super fast and reliable WIFI makes the home ideal for both vacations and longer remote working stays. State of the art climate control throughout the house cools or heats quickly to just the right comfort level. The brand new mattresses are of the highest quality. Overhead showers have good pressure and temperature.

When you enter through the front door, you find yourself in an open vestibule with space to hang your jacket or your hat, and set down your beach or shopping bags, sunglasses and keys. There is a large powder room with a high ceiling, elegant antique crystal sconces, mirrors and an ample hand carved alabaster sink. Like the other two bathrooms, the powder room also has a sparkly new toilet and bidet.

Slightly higher than the main entrance is the enormous living / dining area. Perfect for aperitivo, afterparty, family game night, or just lounging, it offers three large, comfy sofas, an oversized coffee table, an Eames chair with ottoman, and a big oval Tulip table with 8 velvet chairs for dinner at home. The focal point of the room is the extra-large picture window, which can pivot open and which boasts the best view in Noto: the Cathedral domes, rooftops and Baroque architecture of the City of Noto, all of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ionian Sea at Sicily's southernmost point, and the rural hills and valleys surrounding the city center.

Climb a few steps to the bright and brand-new kitchen, kitted out with all the amenities. Walk out the glass door onto the breathtaking, spacious terrace for an even more impressive POV of the same view as that of the living room. A built-in L shaped sofa with a decadent number of bespoke cushions and long coffee table brings the group together again.

Or move into the shade under the pergola and enjoy a meal al fresco at the round marble dining table. Food and drink can be passed through the kitchen windows and there is even an outdoor sink. Because we got it like that.

There are two beautifully decorated bedrooms on the floor below the main entrance, and one on the floor below that. Each has its own style and views. The two bedrooms on the same floor share a spacious bathroom between the rooms. The smaller bathroom below is en suite. Both bathrooms offer hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. All linens are luxurious.
