Simple and basic accommodations in a great location and a great value for the area. Cozy room was clean and quiet, host was very helpful and responsive, and we were just a few blocks from downtown Spring Green and about a 10-minute drive from American Players Theater.

The apartment was small but exactly what I needed. It was very clean and comfortable, and we really appreciated the AC units in the bedrooms. It was very close to the downtown shopping area, and we enjoyed walking around and shopping. I would definitely choose this location again next time we visit Spring Green.

I really enjoyed my time here. The house was fun and old and it was in a really quiet neighborhood. It is a great place for a woman traveling alone.

There was no reason to expect a living space based on the description at booking. Also, checkout instructions most certainly exist within the app and the physical instructions inside the apartment, though they are brief and were obviously overlooked and unfollowed by Karen. Still, I left a stellar review for their stay only to receive this review in return. Reviews like this only serve to negatively impact this small business, just trying to offer an affordable place to stay for travelers. Please consider removing this review since the statements are untruthful.

We stayed at Peter’s place 5 nights while attending plays at the American Players Theatre. It basic accommodations, 2 bedrooms a bathroom with shower and kitchen. Everything appears pretty worn with the exception of the kitchen appliances and the beds. The price is good for the area.

Please be sure to read the full description before booking a stay at The Yellow House. My aim is to be honest with what to expect and offer the most affordable option to travelers. Reviews like Mr. Stenken's only serve to negatively impact this small business and it's goals. I've pleaded this case with Mr. Stenken to please remove his review. He said he would but still has not. One cannot pay for the least expensive place in town and expect the Ritz Carlton. That is my basis for why I can no longer recommend his stay to other hosts.

What a perfect Wisconsin experience! This apartment is walking distance to everything! It's like stepping back into time. The main street and neighborhood is lined with thriving businesses from cafés to ice cream, grocery store, library, a park and Nina's ( family owned since 1916). The history here is great! And the yellow house fit right in. Very clean, all the basics for home cooking. It is the perfect home base! The property has some beautiful and unique vegetation such as a Rose of Sharon and mint and collects the prairie style. The atmosphere here is comfortable (traffic does come by starting around 6 but is only a minor sleep disturbance because you will want to get up and explore from sunrise on!). Being a homeowner of a farmhouse built 25 years after the yellow house, I give koodos to the owner for how much work it takes to renovate a home built in 1892! Its not perfect, but its absolutely worth the wonderful experience. You won't find a more accommodating host! Thank you Pete for sharing your Wisconsin gem! We will be back!

Our stay was flawless. No problems. Vrbo communications weren't great but communications with Peter Fisk were excellent and timely. Not a luxury rental but a very good value for the cost. Will stay here again next year if it is available.

Great host, really convenient to APT. Because it is the only gathering common area, a couple more chairs for kitchen would be nice and a few more cups. It was easy to find and clean. We had a nice stay. Ate at a nearby restaurant that had great food and service.

Easy stay in lovely Spring Green!

I had a fantastic stay at Peter's house. The check-in process was super easy with a custom door code and Peter was very communicative. The house was simple and rustic but had all the essentials - towels, linens, pots, pans. The location was incredible - right on the main street of Spring Green, and a few blocks from restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. There was WiFi but no other electronics, TV, etc. which was great - it encouraged me to get outside! Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway or extended stay!

We are traveling artists and always appreciate finding affordable places to stay. Yes, it is an older home and is exactly as described. If you don’t need anything fancy except a comfy bed, clean and quiet, this place is just that. Will easily stay again!

I'm a theater critic who was in Spring Green to review American Players Theatre shows over the weekend. The Yellow House was a perfect location for me and my partner-- less than a ten-minute drive from the theater. It was clean and quiet, with lovely old-fashioned furniture and (amazingly) an in-tune piano and a guitar so I could play a little music. I felt like I was a real resident of Spring Green - I could walk up the street on Saturday morning to get breakfast from the Farmer's Market. There's no TV service, but there's good WI-FI, so I was able to stream on my computer when I wanted to catch up on the news. I hope I can come back next time I'm in Spring Green.
