The deck and backyard offer space to spread out and enjoy the fresh air. A propane grill and outdoor seating make it easy to spend time outside whenever the weather allows.
Family & Pet-Friendly Comfort
Moonlight Ridge is family-friendly and pet-friendly, welcoming dogs so your furry friends can join the getaway. Children’s books, toys, games, and a high chair help make traveling with little ones more comfortable. A washer and dryer are available for longer stays, and a dedicated workspace supports remote work when needed.
Location & Nearby Attractions
The cabin sits about 15 minutes from downtown Luray and Luray Caverns, with easy access to local breweries, restaurants, and shops. Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive are roughly a 30-minute drive, offering hiking, scenic overlooks, and year-round outdoor exploration. Wineries, local attractions, and charming small-town stops are all close by, making Moonlight Ridge a convenient home base for exploring the area.
Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub on a crisp evening, after a long day out, or enjoying quiet mornings surrounded by nature, Moonlight Ridge offers a comfortable and relaxed escape in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.
Note
The tap water often has a yellow/light brown appearance due to high minerality levels -- specifically iron and manganese. We’ve had the pipes/well inspected and there’s nothing wrong with them; the presence of iron/manganese is normal in this area, and the water is perfectly safe to drink (although it can occasionally have a slight sulfur smell). We recommend bringing bottled water.
Bedroom 2 does not have a door, but it is still fully private and provides a comfortable, quiet space for your stay.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
