Réunions et mariages familiaux NH Country Retreat

Charmante retraite de campagne dans la région des lacs du New Hampshire avec la forêt nationale de White Mountain à proximité. Parfait pour des vacances en famille, des réunions ou un mariage.

L'espace de vie spacieux, lumineux et ouvert toute l'année donne sur plus de 500 acres de champs et de bois de la famille. Écoutez le gargouillis du ruisseau Mill pendant que vous vous détendez à Brookland Farm. Profitez de votre café du matin sur une terrasse ensoleillée ou, à la fin de la journée, détendez-vous avec un cocktail sur le porche de l'écran tout en admirant le coucher de soleil sur le mont. Whiteface et Passaconway.

La maison elle-même est une ferme rénovée de plus d'un étage et de 3000 pieds carrés, de plus de 200 ans avec 10 lits (3 reines (une avec une intimité réduite), 5 lits jumeaux, 1 simple et un canapé-lit gigogne) et un moderne cuisine dînatoire (cuisinière 5 feux gaz, lave-vaisselle, électroménagers en inox, planchers de bois). La buanderie, la salle de généalogie familiale et une chambre sont adjacentes à la cuisine. Internet haut débit sans fil, TV numérique avec lecteur DVD. À l'extrémité de la maison se trouve une grande pièce (23 pi sur 24 pi) pour les grands rassemblements avec une cheminée, une table de salle à manger (12 places) et un porche grillagé à proximité.

La disposition tentaculaire peut accueillir un grand nombre d'invités (12 maximum) pour profiter des divertissements à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur, quelle que soit la saison. Entourée de champs vallonnés et de murs en pierre anciens, la propriété est paisible, calme et magnifiquement paysagée avec de nombreux parterres de fleurs.

L'espace de vie extérieur comprend une terrasse avec un gril à gaz, un porche grillagé adjacent avec vue sur la montagne et un bungalow avec 2 hamacs pour se détendre. Dans notre étang privé à proximité, profitez d'une baignade relaxante ou allez à la pêche (étang rempli de bar à petite bouche).

Des kilomètres de sentiers privés traversent nos bois et permettent aux clients de profiter de la randonnée, de l'observation des oiseaux, du vélo (montagne ou route), du ski XC et de la raquette juste derrière la porte arrière. Canoë à l'étang Bearcamp à proximité *. Ou, si vous voulez juste être paresseux - croquet, fers à cheval.

A perfect weekend

A great location to gather and stay with family. We enjoyed the hiking trails around the property and the easy access to White Face Hollow down the street.

This house worked out really well for an adult family group attending a wedding at nearby Whiteface Hollow. We actually spent very little time in the house on this beautiful fall weekend. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms had plenty of clean towels. As a bonus the surrounding property was beautiful; rolling fields, the foliage, and a little pond.

Check in was a little rocky as the key code info wasn’t sent to us. We had the check info email sent just the key code to get in was missing. The host was quick to respond and got it resolved! This farm home is very historical. Built in 1800 it had a lot of the original features which was awesome. Home is very unique which has a very interesting layout and made you wonder what room was used for what. You can tell by all the family photos on the walls that this is a generational home. Property and the views were amazing! Careful when you go on a hike the Ticks are real!!!!! The host had all the supplies you could think of available which we greatly appreciated. Overall a good trip for us. Only thing I would change is the place was dusty in a lot of areas and some of the bedding had stains, be careful opening the windows…even with a screen those little “No’seams” still get in, with the home being so historical I was personally little scared at night and I know this more of a me problem because I am afraid of all things that go bump in the night. Now to be clear we didn’t hear a thing it was just the thought of it happening. Haha! I would rent this property again as it was large and so very interesting!

Country comfort in a gorgeous setting

We had a gorgeous weekend at Brookland Farm, enjoying the beautiful view of fall foliage from the kitchen table, walks on nearby woodland paths, and big crackling fires in the comfortable living room. This is the ideal place to enjoy the New England countryside with friends and family!

Wedding stay

The property and surrounding area is just gorgeous. The house is an older home with a bit of charm and was comfortable. We (6 adults and 2 teenagers) were in town for a wedding at Whiteface Hollow and this was the perfect location. It’s less than 5 minutes to drive there. All in all it was very nice.

Weekend Getaway

Want to feel like you are in The Shire from the Lord of the Rings? …then this spot is for you. Quiet, clean and plenty of room in and around the house. You can feel the history of the property the minute you walk in. It was a perfect location to get away and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of a small New Hampshire town.

Gorgeous Private Setting near Tamworth

This home was perfect for our family reunion with plenty of rooms/beds for multiple families nestled in a beautiful area just outside of Tamworth village. The kitchen is large and well suited to prepare a family meal with views of the mountains outside the large window. The house has a lovely sitting area that leads outdoors to a screen porch perfect for eating al fresco. The grounds are beautiful with a small pond and walking trails nearby. We highly recommend and plan on coming back to stay in the future.

From the beginning, the host, Chris, was responsive and helpful answering any questions. We were a multi- generational group gathering from 3 states for a family wedding in the area. This property was perfect and was a quintessential NH experience. The vistas of fields and mountains were stunning and several from our group hiked on around the property. It was beautiful. And the stars at night without any light “ noise” were glorious. The house was perfect for us- enough beds, well- appointed bathrooms with plenty of towels. Its real charm, though, was in knowing it was a true family home where history and family legacy were celebrated and honored. It was a privilege to stay there.

We loved our stay ... a perfect place for our group of very close friends.

The country house was just right for our weekend gathering. The screened-in porch was lovely for late afternoon lunches and a few of our crew found the "hidden" hammocks for afternoon naps. The surrounding landscape a sweet respite from the world made even better with a walk into the touching town of Tamworth. An added bonus was a kitchen stocked with everything one needs to cook and serve a feast. Thanks to our host for this special NH Retreat. It was indeed that.

beautiful fall foliage weekend

My wife, family and I spent a weekend at Chris Alt's beautiful family farm house. We were attending a wedding in Tamworth and needed a place for 8 people. This property was perfect, we could of had 15 people and it would of been comfortable. Chris was a great host and made it real easy to obtain the key and even let us in early. I would definitely recommend this property for your next trip to the white mountains.

Excellent Historic Property

We rented the Alt property because we were hiking in the area. What beautiful place to stay. The historic property was beautifully kept and great to explore. Instructions for the house use were very clear and well communicated. We had everything we needed to cook many meals as the house is completely stocked. We were a large group but everyone had enough space. Hopefully our adventures take us back there to rent this home again. Thank you Chris and your family.

Great time

Once we figured out how to make the bedrooms work (the three upstairs are accessible through the first bedroom so people in the second and third bedrooms have to walk through the first and second to get to the second and third) we had a great time. It was 5 miles from the wedding venue at the Preserve at Chocorua so that was convenient. There is a great collection of cassette tapes and a cool throw-back stereo system which was fun.

Our 4th Year!

You are a marketing expert. Make this description of a stay at a vacation home sound wonderful. This was my family’s 4th stay at the beautiful Tamworth farmhouse and it doesnt ever disappoint! Hikes by beautiful streams and bridges, tubing the rolling hills of snow, ice skating, and then back in time to a fireplace and wood stove with the whole family playing Scrabble and building puzzles. I just know we are making memories for a lifetime with this annual trip. Gratitude to the Alt family, for graciously sharing your legacy with us.

I live in Newton MA, a suburb of Boston. I work as a finance professor at several Boston area business schools. My wife is a neuropsychologist working in Wellesley MA. We like to go to NH and go hiking, skiing and swimming. We also like to go to Cape Code to go swimming, play golf, bicycling, etc.

My family has lived in this house for over 65 years and in the area for over 150 years. This is a wonderful house so please be respectful and treat it like your own.

I'm available by phone or by email to respond to renters' questions. In addition, my brother (who lives 500 yards away) will also be available to respond to questions, give out keys to guests, etc.
