Welcome to our Chic Country Home in Portage, Wisconsin—a beautifully renovated farmhouse set on 80 acres of scenic land. This charming 1.5-story retreat offers 1,900 square feet of thoughtfully designed space, perfect for family gatherings or a relaxing escape. Just 20 minutes from Cascade Mountain, enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and winter adventures before returning to unwind by one of our two cozy wood burners!
The Space:
Step into the spacious, contemporary kitchen and dining area, which offer seating for up to 26 guests—ideal for birthday parties or holiday gatherings. We provide three gathering rooms: two with wood burners and one featuring a comfortable leather sectional, perfect for hosting large family get-togethers!
On the main level, you'll find a queen bedroom with an en suite bathroom, offering convenience and privacy. Upstairs, there are two additional bedrooms: one with a luxurious king-size bed and a futon, and the other with two queen beds.
Wake up to stunning early sunrises and delightful views of local wildlife right outside your windows, where deer and cranes gracefully wander through the land. We have a resident Sandhill crane family that raises its new hatchlings every year. The expansive acreage surrounding the farmhouse enhances the feeling of seclusion and tranquility, making this chic country home an ideal setting for creating cherished memories and enjoying a peaceful retreat from everyday life.

Our neighbor, who helps maintain the property, retains rights to the land and may use it for activities such as hunting, especially during hunting seasons. Additionally, in spring and summer, we rent the land to local farmers for crops, making it inaccessible during those months.
For your safety and to respect our neighbor’s rights, we kindly ask that guests refrain from entering the open fields with pets or for recreational purposes. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring your stay is both enjoyable and safe.

**FIRES & FIREWOOD**
Fires are allowed in fire rings, grills and in our indoor wood burners only. Do not leave fires unattended, and put out all fires before leaving. Do not burn garbage, plastic, glass, cans or other recyclable items. Firewood is provided in the white building on the hill to the right of the back door.
DO NOT use lighter fluid inside the home, please use paper and kindling to start indoor fires.
**GRILL INFORMATION**
-Charcoal Grill is provided
-Keep the grill at least 10 feet away from buildings, overhangs, or flammable materials.
-Please clean the grill and surrounding area after cooking. Dispose of ashes and charcoal safely.
-Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.

The booking that never happened
I had my request to book approved…YAYI had sent a message in my booking request and I got a reply to that (auto generated?). I sent several messages (via VRBO) but never got a response. I never paid a thing so I’m not put anything but it was a disappointing experience. Great thing is, my daughter in law’s parents offered us their cabin. It was a fantastic July 4th weekend..

They should have flagged that as going to your spam. Can you please check on your end for any communications from B4K, Blueprints 4 Keys or the Hosting Helper? They are showing emails sent on their end but clearly no responses on your end. We are trying to figure out what happened to prevent this in the future. I see that we have zero charges to you on our end. I feel really bad because this is a wonderful home and you had another bad experience as well. Fantastic Place to Stay Exceeded Expectations
My wife and I had a wonderful time at this property; it was the perfect getaway to relax and recharge.
The property was spotless, and there was no dirt in the rooms or bathrooms. It felt like walking into a professionally cleaned home.
The house is spacious, with two bedrooms upstairs and a small workspace. Since the first floor had more room than we needed, we didn't use the upstairs bedrooms.
As there were only two of us, we made good use of the well-equipped kitchen, which had everything we needed for cooking throughout the week, including coffee and snacks.
This is an older farmhouse that has been modernized to create a homely atmosphere with lots of character and charm. The renovated interior beautifully combines the old and the new, allowing you to experience the unique charm of the original floors, which we found delightful.
The property is extensive, with a fire pit, picnic table, and several outdoor buildings that we enjoyed exploring. The host was excellent in communicating with us. When we asked if we could walk the property and where to get firewood, she promptly responded to all our questions.
The house has two wood-burning heaters, which made our evenings of watching TV so cozy and romantic. It also has central heating and air conditioning units.
One of the most beautiful experiences I had every morning was sitting in the kitchen, watching the sunrise, and enjoying a cup of coffee.
The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and was fast.
Do plan to go back.
