Perfect Spot

This place was cute and perfectly set up for family and fur baby. The location is the best spot from, the Krogers to the beach. The beach is literally right down the street. May be a 2-3 min walk. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. Definitely will be planning another stay here in the future!

We would book this house again

We were in town for the weekend for a cheer competition. Home advertised as close to convention center, beach, dining and shopping and it did not disappoint. Layout of the house was nice and the upstairs porch was great to hang out on.

Great place. Close enough to everything . Have a small ocean view but still really nice. Spacious and plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms. Would definitely stay here again.

A great location.

We were a group of 10 and the house was perfect for us. It is a short walk to Krogers and the beach. The owner was super nice and was totally responsive to our needs. We had a wonderful stay.

Close to everything!

We picked this stay because we had lots of moving parts. The stay was an easy walking distance to the beach, the grocery store, and a bunch of restaurants of all level near by. It really helped keep the group together and moving efficiently so we got to enjoy our time in Galveston. The house itself was well equipped with a full kitchen with spices and dishes and cookware. I would totally stay here again!

Great location!

The house is really nice, clean, spacious, great location. The only inconvenience for us was the stairs for my parent who are elders. Also I suggest to upgrade the iron which is too small and broken. Other than that, everything is great.

Perfect location, ideal setup, great host

We were in town for a dance competition at the convention center. The location couldn't have been better - everyone could easily walk back and forth as needed, no car required. We had plenty of bathroom/mirror space for several teenage dancers AND their parents to get ready in the morning. The bunk room was perfect for the kids. Walking distance to Kroger and a couple of good restaurants was a bonus. Check in/out was a breeze and the host was immediately responsive to all questions/requests and helped us out in every way she could. If we return next year, we hope the house will be available again!

Unexpected Charges

We rented May 16-20. The House location and condition was great. However, We are an older group - the main living area is on the third floor so hauling everything up was not the best. The owner was responsive when we were not able to watch ESPN and the NBA playoffs - she added it to her streaming pkg that night. We did enjoy sitting on the 3rd floor balcony with our morning coffee and afternoon glass of wine. You can see and hear the water. However, the $1500 refundable deposit was only partially refunded due to a fan in the refrigerator not working. I’m not sure what we could have done to cause a refrigerator fan to not work - but it seems that charging us $550 for a repair of a part that does go bad is excessive and unwarranted. I did not see these charges right away since I’ve been on vacation for 2 weeks. I have only today messaged the owner for clarification, receipts etc.

Great size, needs deep cleaning!

I booked this house due to the number of people in our party, so we could all stay together (10 adults, 1 teenager, 1 toddler, 1 infant). The house is plenty big enough and we didn’t feel crowded. The beds were comfortable and linens were clean. The owner was very good with communication and gave me an initial call after booking, just to touch base and said to contact her if I had any questions. Upon arrival the house was ready and the location is convenient enough to walk over to beach. There’s plenty of stores, restaurants very close to the house. Just FYI, there’s a cemetery directly behind house that literally is up against privacy fence, for us it didn’t matter, but some people may want to know that. The reason I only gave three stars is because the house could use a DEEP cleaning! The baseboards are very dirty and the pantry door/cabinets need a good once over as well as the floors in general.The lamp in one of the first bedrooms didn’t work. The couch certainly needs replaced. It’s vynil (I believe) and it’s flaking off and is broken down. If you sit on the part in front of the big mirror, flakes of it sticks to your clothes, body. The high chair seat had to be cleaned out due to some old food in the seams. Also, I understand not stocking the house with tons of supplies, but for the rate per night, a few extra rolls of toilet paper and paper towels would be handy, especially with that many people staying. I’ve booked with VRBO for years and have had many great stays and have very rarely had disappointments. Over all, we enjoyed our stay because we got to stay together and make some great memories but I have to admit the lack of better cleaning did bother me during our stay, especially with having a toddler. I’m not sure if owner is local and may not be aware of these issues so I just wanted to make aware so they can be addressed. Again, besides these issues, thanks for sharing your house. M. Hicks

The house baseboards are cleaned, the paint has been scuffed off by the high volume traffic in the house with people partying, 400.00 per night is a cheap price for 20 people, the rest of the fees are the website and taxes which have to be paid, the house sleeps 20 but some guests have more than 20 in their party, they break things, tile floor, couchs, locks, the house gets painted once a year in late July, Thank you for your comments, they have been passed to cleaning crew.

Perfect for a large group!

Location- Very easy 1.5 block walk to the beach and right by Kroger. Quiet neighbors, quiet street, and backs up to a quiet cemetery. Layout- bottom floor has 2 bedrooms (each with a queen size bed), a third large bedroom with 4 sets of bunk beds and a day bed (this room sleeps 10), a laundry room, 2 full bathrooms, and a front porch / balcony that runs the width of the house. The top floor has a master bedroom with king size bed and attached full bathroom. The rest of the upstairs is open concept with a well stocked kitchen, dining table, bar stools, large sectional sofa, and pool table. I don’t think the sofa and pool table are shown on the listing so we were happily surprised. There’s also an additional half bath on this floor as well as a second large balcony. Under the house is the paved area with lots of parking, a picnic table, grill, and outside shower. There’s also some grass and pretty landscaping. Everything is fenced and there’s a gate that goes across the driveway. Ideal guests- this is absolutely perfect for a large group, especially if you want the kids to be all together and the adults to have their own space. We had our 7 girl scouts in the “dorm room” and our 5 moms shared the 3 traditional bedrooms. There was more than enough space with 3.5 bathrooms, so many beds, and ample living space. Sound doesn’t carry. We really couldn’t hear each other when our little groups congregated in different sections of the house. I’ve stayed in other beach houses that felt small and cramped, but this one is spacious and has a smart layout. We could have comfortably fit several more people. Value- this felt like a lot of money when we booked it, but It was actually a better value and a better experience than staying in multiple hotel rooms to accommodate our large group. This one is a winner!

Quick Trip

It was fine, the house was a decent spot for the purpose of my trip. Initially, when looking for a weekend house, the map showed it behind the San Luis, but it in fact behind a Grocery Strip Center, with a Cemetery directly behind the house, which didn't bother me but could be a deal breaker for others. Overall, I'd book it again.

Everything We Needed

Such a great location we had Starbucks in the morning and sat on the top deck almost all day long. I even enjoyed the Cemetery behind us. Host was Awesome!
