Welcome to Ceilidh Cottage! This charming 1920s mountain cottage in Montreat is full of history and fresh mountain air. Relax on the covered porch, take in mountain views, grill outside, or sit by the fire pit. The chef’s kitchen and dining area make gathering easy. Pet friendly and close to trails, downtown Black Mountain is just minutes away!

Historic Ceilidh Cottage has long been a gathering place in Montreat, close to the quaint downtown of Black Mountain, NC. “Ceilidh” (KAY-lee) is a Scots-Gaelic word for a social gathering of family and friends. The owners chose this name to honor their heritage and the cottage’s history as an iconic place to come together.

◆ Main floor: Living, kitchen, dining, bonus sitting room with sleeper sofa and bathroom, large covered porch, and spacious deck
◆ Top floor: Four bedrooms with individual sinks, one bathroom with toilet and shower, screened porch with a cafĂ© table
◆ Lower floor: Movie and game room with comfy seating and foosball, plus laundry room with washer and dryer

You have access to the whole home and property.

- This is a pet friendly property with a pet fee shown at booking.
- There are many stairs in and around the home, so it is not wheelchair accessible.

Only issues were lots of empty beer cans left in trash can by prior guests (or neighbors) and dog hair in all of the beds. Everything else was great and much appreciated. Regard's.

Music and Worship Stay

The property was very nice with the highlights being the front porch, back patio with Firepit and the Foozball game.It was a good size for our family of four, and could easily accommodate a larger family or group of up to 10 or so. We had invited another family to stay with us, and we are sort of glad they couldn't make it as we don't know them that well and we might have been too much on top of us. It would be great for two medium families that know each other well however.The location was great for the conference, going to the playground and stream. There are a lot of stairs- that is not unusual for Montreat and fine for us- but would be an issue for people with mobility issues. I think they make that clear on the listing.I give it a good plus rating, not quite excellent, only because the dishwasher was broken when we arrived. The manager told us that (good), but didn't make any attempt to fix it or offer any compensation back for the inconvenience. Also, while the kitchen was fairly well stocked, there were a few items (cheese grater toilet paper etc) that we could not fine and/or were it sort of short supply.Overall we would happily stay there again, although as I am aging and getting less mobile I might look for a property with a few less stairs.

We had some issues, however Leisr Stays worked with us & had the issues resolved. We had 8 people the first week & 7 people the second week of our Mission groups stay as we came down to NC to perform rebuilding from Hurricane Helene. The house was a great fit for 8 people.
