Escape to our serene haven nestled in the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. This inviting property offers the perfect home base for your bourbon tasting adventures. The Bourbon Bungalow is located in a rural/residential area across the street from Guist Creek Lake in the charming town of Shelbyville. We are midway between Louisville and Lexington and perfectly situated for visits to a plethora of distilleries.

Our home features four cozy bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining table that seats eight, and a welcoming living area perfect for relaxation after a day of exploring local distilleries. Enjoy picturesque sunsets from the front porch or relax on the patio in the back. Fix a cocktail while you listen to a record on our record player. After a day of bourbon tasting and exploring, you’ll definitely want to sink into the hot tub (seats 7) and relieve the day’s adventures. In the summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day) you’ll have the refreshing pool for a dip.

Each of our bedrooms is designed to bring to life one of our favorite local distilleries. Have fun choosing which one you like best!

The Woodford Room features a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom.

We were fortunate to find this gem! Close to major cities but also a little vacation. Fun in winter. Host shoveled, salted and we enjoyed the hot tub! Great, responsive host! Place has everything you’d want. Hose cozy & spacious, Bed really comfortable, and I loved the cleanliness of the place and the mid-century modern decor. Bourbon-themed rooms went with our visit to several Louisville distilleries. Such a great time, great memories! !

Wonderful stay for Bourbon Trail

My family visited the location for stops on the Bourbon Trail in Lexington and Louisville. From the Pool table to the hot tub to the grill, it was a stay that was made better by staying here. 10/10 time and would recommend to everyone to stay here.

The place was very welcoming. However, there was mold and dust in many places of the home. Looks appealing from pictures but when entering the home, we saw dirty appliances and dishes. Even when we tried to make coffee, there was mold in the machine. The living room had dusty fans and cobwebs just by looking up. There will have to be a very thorough cleaning before staying again.

Host was absolutely wonderful at communication and ensuring needs were met. Property is even better than the photo's, which are already incredible. Clean, accessible, well stocked kitchen for plates and cookware. We played pool, swam, soaked in the hot tub, listened to records, grilled, cooked, used all bathrooms, stayed in, went out, and generally had a blast. Thanks to the hosts for ensuring such a wonderful experience.

Guy's Trip 2025

A small group of us took a guy's trip to visit the KY Bourbon Trail and selected this location to stay. It was a great choice! It's conveniently located, easy to access, yet provides a disconnected feel from the busy world around which really provides great relaxation. Plus, the decor was spot on with a unique vide that tied into the main reason we visited - bourbon! Our group absolutely enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend it.

Amazing time

Our stay at the Bourbon Bungalow was a fantastic experience for our group of three families! The property is in a peaceful, rural spot across from Guist Creek Lake, offering a relaxing atmosphere and perfect access to the Bourbon Trail.The house is incredibly spacious and thoughtfully designed. Each of the four bedrooms is themed after a local distillery, adding a unique, fun touch. The Woodford and Buffalo Trace rooms, both with king beds and en-suite baths, were hits for the adults. The Maker’s Mark room, with a king bed and daybed, was great for a family with a child, while the cozy Bulleit room offered a comfy queen bed.We loved the gathering areas for our group. The fully-equipped kitchen made meal prep easy, and the large dining table was ideal for sitting down together. The living room, with its warm vibe and record player, became a favorite hangout spot.Outside, the amenities were just as impressive. The seven-person hot tub was perfect for unwinding after visiting distilleries, and though it wasn’t pool season, the pool is great for summer stays. We also loved the front porch and back patio for enjoying sunsets.The location couldn’t have been more convenient. Distilleries like Bulleit and Jeptha Creed were minutes away, with others like Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve an easy drive. With its thoughtful details, great amenities, and prime location, the Bourbon Bungalow is perfect for families or groups. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to return!
