Great location, clean, had all the things we needed-enjoyed the hot tub, sunrises every morning and especially the whale watching from the lanai!!

Truly oceanfront home south of Hilo in Hawaiian Paradise Park, Keaau. Home was tucked away on a quiet street. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the crashing waves at night in the master, on the patio, or in the hot tub! Truly a relaxing experience! Although the BBQ was a bit more primitive than expected, with a bag of charcoal, we were able to cook dinner and enjoy the peace of this little oasis. Beds were comfortable and home was well appointed. Great location to explore the east side of the Big Island and only about 40 mins to the volcano. Highly recommend! We would rent this VRBO again.

Wow! There are not enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was! I woke up every morning and drank a cup of coffee on the lanai and watched the sunrise. Saw sea turtles swimming around. Very private I felt right at home. The house had everything we needed during our stay! This was a trip of a lifetime for us and so glad we had a wonderful home to stay in.

Beautiful, calm and relaxing stay

Property is very cute and we enjoyed our stay. It is situated in a area that is just a little bit more remote than your typical BNB and it was so nice to have the view of the ocean just for ourselves.Everything is as advertised, it's a great central point to explore the Hilo side of the island.

We loved this house! It had everything we needed for a comfortable 10-day stay for one couple and two singles. Cannot beat the view…and the whales were crazy active this year, which is not always the case. We saw turtles, dolphins, and fish jumps! Watched both the sun and moon rises from the lanai. The beds varied in firmness and we all slept well. The kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry were thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for our entire stay. Plenty fans, towels, coolers, chairs, and toys for trips to the beach (which we didn’t use but good to know). It was hot and stuffy when we first arrived but once opened up to the breezes was quite comfortable. This is a quiet neighborhood on a dead end road away from crowds. Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and coqui frogs. We enjoy walking along the ocean with the local fishermen, residents and their dogs. McKenzie was a super responsive host. TWe return to HPP often and would definitely stay here again.

We were disappointed to learn there was no air conditioning. I went back over the listing and could not find it mentioned at all. If there is no AC it should be prominently listed. All the windows had screens and the rooms ceiling fans, but it was mid 80s in the day time and humid.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It had everything we needed and more. We liked looking right outside at the ocean. Gorgeous views of the ocean. The tropical breezes, along with the fans, kept the home cool and comfortable. There was a lot of space for all 7 of us. The greatest part of the entire stay was the convenience of fishing right from the backyard. We appreciated being steps away from decent fishing grounds and not needing to travel far for a good spot to throw our poles.
