Large Luxury Villa, Heated Pool, Games/Gym Room, Sea and Mountain Views

We arrived on the island on the same day as the guests to the happy sound of rain. It did not last long and in 2 days we were back to sun and hazy clouds coming of the sea. Thank you for your review. Guests left something behind and is scheduled for return when we get home.

Hello Thank you for your review. The instructions we send to all guests tells you how to switch from solar to electricity water heating 30 mins gives you a full tank of hot water eg 380 litres. You are told the maximum power consumption is 40 AMPs or 9.600 Watts (this what is normally supplied to T3,s). Hence when you are using too much electricity and you turn something else on the circuit breaker will switch the supply off. This is also explained to you in our instructions.

Thank you for your review. Anyone reading this we suggest double cable car booking for the Palace and Botanical gardens as this is the cheapest way to visit these attractions. You need to start early as this would be a full day.

We have tried all types of seats and benches but none seem to servive for very long. Either guests brake them, missunderstand them, or leave them out in bad weather. Sun umbrellers last about a month.

There was a slip up with the villa instructions for arrival but were sorted by telephone guest offered refund for one day but never submitted there bank details for return.

The villa is not advertised as sleeping 8 or being suitable for 8 people it clearly states SLEEPS 6, there is an option when asked to add up to two portable beds/cots if required (usually for younger children). Please read the advert carefully and ask if you have any questions. Our representative would have told you that the water is powered by solar and there is an electrical override to heat the water if required. This gives 350L of hot water ( We have had one other guest complain that the hot water runs out after standing in the shower for about an hour) The pool is heated and has always been heated. The pool heating is via heat exchanger and you are told to replace the heat retaining cover at night. No outdoor pool will be warmer than about 22-24 degrees (ours runs at this temperature when heating is required), unless you heat by direct electrical heaters which would considerably push the cost of renting the villa up by 150-450 euros/week plus added maintenance costs. You may get a few dogs barking it is a rural setting, that means the countryside. We stay at this villa and never find the rural noise a problem and we always sleep with the bedroom doors left fully open. It is not good practice for the guests or the villas security to give out the exact GPS position, it is a known fact that undesirables (few on the island of Madeira) look at this information, we do supply you with the name of the village and general location so you can find the area on a map. Fail to see why you need to use GPS when on holiday your there to see the island not travel from A to B in the quickest possible time (bet you used all the tunnels and missed half of the island). We have no idea why you consider the site or the view a problem you have a full 160+ degree view of the sea and local valley very nice sun rise or sun set depending on the time of year. There is also a great variety of wildlife that can be spotted from the villa in the air on the land and at sea. There is ample parking behind locked electric gates. This is a great villa at a great price on the sub tropical, sunny island of Madeira. (May we suggest that you rent one of the 8 bedroom villas that have 6 hectors of there own garden and open land with a fully electrically heated indoor outdoor swimming pool, they can be found on the site for about 5500 Euros/week in the off season)

Thank you for your review. This is the first unfavourable review we have had for our villa. It seems you decided to blame our villa for the bad weather you had during your stay. The weather was very unseasonal for this time of year (April) and if fact far anytime in Maderia. (we have had clients using this pool over the Christmas period 2015) The weather was very wet with high winds and very cold for the island. Thus the house was surprisingly "damp". Madeira is a subtropical island with a mild humid climate few if any houses on the island have central heating as you would find in Northern Europe. The villas are not designed for such cold weather. You asked and were provided with extra heaters. Downstairs 4000Kw and each bedroom 100Kw heaters. Most of the swimming pools on the island are heated via heat exchangers these will only work if the outside temperature is above 12 degrees. If you wanted an electrically heated pool then you need to pay 3000+ Euro/week and it will not be an outdoor pool. You were also instructed to cover the pool at night. There are enough basic supplies in the villa on arrival for a couple of days use after that you could have bought more soap, powder etc. for the dishwasher and washing machine at the local supermarket. These guests even admit that the weather during their stay was really bad - something even we have no control over. The visitor’s book in the villa, available to anyone is only full of praise for our villa. This is a very nice villa with very high standards at a very competitive price for the facilities available.
