The carpenter's cottage is decorated in vintage woodworking and logging tools that have been used for several generations in our family. Rainier has a rich history of logging, lumber and woodworking. Some tools have been found nearby.
Enjoy a peaceful country setting with deer, birds, occasional bobcat, squirrels, raccoons, occasional elk, but is a short walk to town.
Watch deer munch on apples and relax in the shade as you walk around our 14 acres or enjoy them from your windows.

Fully stocked kitchen, two bedrooms. Quiet top floor. Everything clean and looked newly renovated. Heated lounge chair was amazing. Casual host, great communication. Will definitely stay again. And there were some deer. Really beautiful location with the deck facing the forest.

Carpenters Cottage is amazing! Clean, welcoming and beautiful views. This place felt like being at home had a warm comfort feel about it. Having a washer & dryer was a plus because we went home with all clean clothes. I give this place a 10 out of 10. Cannot wait to book this place again. Jim & Sandra B.

We had a great stay at the cottage. The place is fully stocked with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The deck overlooks the beautiful trees and the setting is very peaceful. The location is great for visiting the surrounding areas. The hot tub was an added bonus after a long day of sight seeing. We even got a visit from local wildlife!

Cozy stay!

Carpenter’s Cottage was charming, cozy, and the perfect stay while visiting family! The host was welcoming and available for any of our needs. I recommend this stay and would gladly stay here again!

The owner Dustin came by on our last day and he and my dog fell in love. We spent about 45 minutes chatting and learned about our careers and families. Did i mention my dog fell in love witn him. This plave had everything. I mean everything you need except your clothes. The kitchen and bathroom has everything. I cant tell you. Just find put for yourself. The owners are incredible people. Check in is a breeze. We are definately going back again

Just WOW!

This home was amazing in every way! It was clean, inviting, comfy, and the location can't be beat! The off-street, private parking had ample room and was safe, which was very important to us. The short stairs leading to the deck and front door were manageable for my husband, who uses a cane. The rest of the home was very accessible, which we did not specifically need, but definitely appreciated.Our family usually stays in hotels, but since all 4 of us were there for a week we wanted more space. This home was absolutely ideal for us!The kitchen was stocked with everything necessary, the washer and dryer were great to be able to use during our stay, the beds were comfortable, and everything in the bathroom worked as expected. The hot tub and massaging recliner were amazing! Our favorite area was the huge wraparound deck and the firepit was a welcoming place to relax when the nights were chilly. We had both family and business in Longview so the location was ideal. The scenery, including the mama deer and her fawn who came to eat grass as we watched from the deck, was so refreshing and peaceful. Being able to enjoy the many touches throughout the home from this family's history in the timber industry was wonderful and those details made it all the more special. We sincerely hope to visit again. Thank you for making our New Mexico family's first trip to the Pacific North West so memorable!

I was in education for 22 years and three years ago decided to start a remodeling, construction and property management business since we've had several rental properties over the years. I decided to try out an AirBNB at our 2 bed cottage to see how it went. 1 year later, we've been very busy and it's fun to meet people from all over the world and help them see our little piece of Heaven, called the Pacific Northwest (PNW)!
We've hosted guests from Central Mexico, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Michigan, Italy, Canada, California, Texas, Florida, Idaho, Ohio, NY, Montana, S. Dakota, AZ, NV, NY, WA and of course Oregon as well as many other states.

I chose this area in Rainier for our rental because I grew up here...200 yards down the road, we owned the property already, it's a beautiful area near the coast, the mountains, the city, the country, Seattle, the Gorge and so many other areas!

I think my property is unique because I tried to focus a theme on the history of our family, the logging in the area, and the legacy of ancestors.
