With 3 queen beds and 2 bunk beds, this peaceful retreat offers 2 cozy living rooms, one with a sofa bed for extra guests. Absolutely Beautiful, Comfortable, and Truly Felt Like HomeThis home in Oriental was absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The wrap-around deck is incredible and overlooks the water, giving you peaceful views no matter where you are. Everywhere you look, there are windows—out the front you feel nicely private with trees, and out the back you’re looking directly over the water.The house is very spacious and thoughtfully set up. There are four bedrooms, all with dressers for clothing, and the kids’ bunk room was especially great—large, comfortable, with a TV and two fun chairs they loved hanging out in. The two bathrooms had everything we needed, including a hairdryer, which was a nice touch.The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We cooked almost every day (at least one meal a day), and there wasn’t a single thing missing. The appliances were great, and we appreciated having both a Keurig and a regular coffee pot—perfect for different preferences. There’s also a washer and dryer, which made the stay even more convenient.Outside, the property is just as wonderful. There’s a nice yard, a dock where you can pull up a boat, and plenty of places to relax. Below the deck there’s a swing, a couple of hammocks, and what looked like equipment you could use in the summer, such as kayaks and bikes (you’d want to confirm details with the owner). The area feels very private, with only a few neighbors, all of whom were quiet and friendly. We

Lovely, pet friendly, waterfront home in a very peaceful neighborhood. Kitchen was well equipped and all the rooms were very comfortable. Close to town and shops. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay. The fully stocked kitchen was amazing. Spices, seriously I could have shown up with a protein and sides and found enough spices to cook up a delicious meal. They even had a rice cooker! The house was decorated nicely and there was everything we could possibly need (blankets, towels, Kleenex, etc.). It's in a quiet and peaceful location right on the water. They offered recreational items (bikes, paddle board, kayaks) and there were hammocks and and outdoor swing and chairs to sit and enjoy the peace & quiet. Our host was most accommodating and quickly communicated information to assist me. The property is also pet friendly. They even had a little dog bed, which our dogs (who both are too big) squished in that little bed (not together) and enjoyed their naps. The neighborhood is quiet and it was safe to walk the dogs for their evening walks. I didn't see a car on any of the dog walks. BYO flashlight as there are no street lights although I bet if I looked there probably was one I could use. The lack of street lights is a bonus for star gazing. The furniture and beds were comfortable and there are two full baths. I would stay here again. It was by far the best vacation rental we've stayed in to date. Thank you!

Family Vacation

The house was great and the view was beautiful. Unfortunately there were jellyfish in the water around the dock so we couldn't swim, but did some sightseeing around the area, took the ferry over to Shackleford Island, saw the wild horses, and spent time at that beach. Great trip and we love New Bern.

Perfect Oriental Getaway!

We absolutely loved this house and the location is exactly what we were looking for. We were able to keep our boat in the water and it’s tucked far enough back that there’s very little boat “traffic”. The beds were great, the kitchen was well stocked and it just truly felt like home there! The Piggly Wiggly just five minutes down the road had most everything we need, but we did take a rainy day trip to New Bern just 30 minutes away where there was a lot to see in their quaint downtown area. We enjoyed our stay, thanks so much!

We loved staying at this house on the water! Our boys were on the dock from before sunrise until after sunset. Loads of amenities like kayaks and bikes. Neighbors were kind. Thank you!

Our home is roomy and comfortable; not too big and not too small. The bedrooms are just the right size and there are multiple places for your family to gather weather its in one of the two living spaces, large kids bunk room, the kitchen and nook, the table by the back door, the large deck or the expansive patio under the house or the large back yard or my personal favorite, the dock.
