It sleeps 10 with 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths including 2 queens, 4 twins, and 1 full, This cozy retreat is perfect for families or friends looking for a relaxing getaway. Enjoy the convenience of amenities like a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, WIFI, pool table, fireplace and more. Unwind in the Florida room with breathtaking views of the river. The house is stunning with every amenity! The dock on the river is perfect for fishing, kayaking or just star gazing. The owner was so kind and accommodating. Will come again for sure!

We had a wonderful time at the Bluebell Cottage. The house is amazing. We found it to be inviting and cozy. The blow dryers were missing which was a minor issue for us. We let the host know and she took care of it. We did not use the kayaks or boat/fishing stuff but sitting on the dock was lovely. We had several meals on the screened in porch. We tended to enjoy the sunroom in the morning with our coffee and the fireplace room for evening tv watching. The beds are comfy. All of our needs for the week were met. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful VRBO! The property was thoughtfully handicap accessible, making it easy and comfortable for everyone in our group. There were plenty of activities to keep our young school-age kids happily entertained, which made for a relaxing and fun family getaway. The host’s local recommendations for shops and restaurants were spot-on, helping us discover some amazing spots we might have otherwise missed. On top of all that, the host went above and beyond by providing lots of little extras that truly gave our stay a special, personal touch. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend this VRBO to families looking for a perfect, welcoming vacation spot.

Summer vaca 2025

Bluebell Cottage is adorable! It was perfect for our family of 8. Staying at Bluebell Cottage felt more like just going to a friend’s house and hanging out for a week. The house is very well stocked and lots of things you can use like kayaks, grill, floats, crab trap and more. My only knock against the property is the dock and the broken boat lift. We have a boat and brought it to the property, we just tied up on the dock, but there were some major storms when we were there and it made managing the boat a very stressful situation. That said, I would rate this a 5star all day and would absolutely stay there again as well as recommend Bluebell Cottage to others.

Great family vacation

We took the chance on a new listing without reviews and are happy we did. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Bluebell Cottage. From the time we walked in, we felt at home. It was just like the pictures, colorful, clean and bright, with the Ware River in the backyard and cornfields across the road.For us it was almost destination in itself. Our 11 year old woke early to fish and crab off the dock. We made s’mores that Amanda left for us over the fire pit. It was nice sitting on the dock chairs because there is always a breeze. Gloucester has quaint Main Street with shops and restaurants. We visited the Williamsburg area as well as some sandy municipal beaches. The cottage has all the basics and more stashed in the many closets and drawers. It’s freshly painted and many items are new. The kitchen has everything - various serving dishes and cookware options plus spices, oil, flour etc. We especially appreciated the car vacuum, beach towels, the soaps and fluffy towels provided in each of the 3 bathrooms, and the seating in each bedroom. The tiled no-curb handicap shower is spacious and located in the queenfull bedroom, which also has an exterior entrance.There is a step down to the Q room. The pullout beds are in the den and adjoining game room. (Fyi, no hanging closets in there or in the QF bedroom.)There was plenty of space and seating areas to relax and be together -or apart- for our 8 person-4 generations traveling together. It was a great time!

Bluebell Cottage is a magnificent property on the water in Gloucester Courthouse. With the kids empty nesting, we do not use it as much and wanted other to enjoy it too. It if fully handicap accessible which I know is hard to find.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

The Gloucester area is so quaint and peaceful and only 60-90 minutes from some of Virginia's largest MSAs. Great staycation or work at home option.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Fully handicap accessible and first floor living which is great for all involved but especially if you have aging parents that want to get together. It is very private but so accessible to town amenities and restaurants. The setting is breathtaking and we just has two Osprey parents begin to nest nearby.
