Cute little home in a great spot. Hosts were great with contact and made the weekend a breeze. Coziness of the home felt like we were at grandma and grandpa’s for the weekend and just what we needed! Highly recommend for the views of the lake and location. Planning to be back for our next Notre Dame game!

Everything was as described. From check in to check out. We had a few question prior to booking, that were answered promptly. And we had a problem with a door while we were there and it was taken care of that day. Cottage had everything we needed. Lake was good for our grandkids and fishing was good for the fisherman. Very good people to rent from. Thank you again for making our stay good.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our family vacation at this cute little cottage right on the lake. There were beautiful sunsets and shallow water perfect for our kids to enjoy. There are plenty of places to eat in the area, they also provide kitchen necessities if you wanted to cook at the cottage. Great communication from the hosts and everything went perfect! Thank you!!

I am Santa Bufford on Facebook and my wife Becky is Mrs Claus. We enjoy making our own Maple Syrup and a token bottle is provided for your visit. Becky and I first met in high school back in 1972 and this cottage is where she lived. Her mom passed, on Christmas Eve 2023, and her favorite flower was Forget Me Not's, thus the name of our cottage, 4GetMeKnot. We raised 4 boys whom are all married and we have 6 grandchildren. We are both retired now, Becky was an RN for 47 years and I worked for a local company, Adams Remco, for 42 years. We host because grandma wanted to keep the cottage in the family and we wanted to share the quite and simple lake life for other people to enjoy.
While we love having our Vrbo guests, please note this is also our family lake house and there will be a pontoon parked at the pier. Our family in town comes to use it from time to time, including access to the garage only. Rest assured, they will not disrupt your stay. We have them use the north side of the yard at all times to get on and off the pontoon. This boat is not for use. There is however, space for another boat.

4GetMeKnot is on a dead-end street on the east side of the big Simonton lake, therefore it is very quite with minimal traffic. Everyone who lives here pretty much knows each other, so don't be surprised when people wave at you. Friendly is our motto.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

We are one of the original cottages on Simonton Lake. Built in 1941, it has that laid-back cottage feel to it. With a large tree on the south side and two big maples on the west/southwest, the beautiful shade provides very comfortable living conditions in the cottage and on the front porch deck. The front yard to the sandy beach gets plenty of sun for the sunbathers and yard games. We also have a pier for those that want to bring a boat or pontoon. The east side of the lake, where we are, is the most desired area because it is shallow enough for children to play and with a sandy bottom. It is shallow for a long way out, therefore the passing boats stay out farther which creates less waves and fewer bouncing boats. Yet it is deep enough to dock boats to our pier.
