The place itself is cute, clean and comfortable. Our problem was the noise level of the above tenants and no thermostat for the area we were staying in.

Best place in IN for a sunrise!

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy efficiency suite! It was exactly as pictured, and check-in was a breeze with a door code. The fully stocked kitchen, full-size fridge, and bathroom essentials made it feel like home. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the apartment was clean and well-kept.The enclosed patio, accessed from outside, was an inviting space even in winter. Unlike many lakefront homes, this property had a large lawn with private lake access. Watching the sunrise—from the patio or my favorite spot, the swing seat by the water—was the highlight of my stay. I can’t imagine a better sunrise view in Indiana!Pros:‱Very responsive host‱Easy check-in/out‱Clean and well-kept‱Thoughtful amenities (games, stocked kitchen, toiletries, beach towels, kayak, and grill)‱Affordable‱Convenient location‱Screened porch with ample seating‱Comfortable bed & blankets‱The sunrises!!‱Perfect for a romantic getaway or peaceful solo retreatCons:‱Concrete floors get cold in winter (pack slippers!)‱No thermostat in the unit—you’re subject to the upstairs setting (I had to crack a window to sleep comfortably)‱As a bottom unit, you hear footsteps and some noise from above (not a deal-breaker, but worth noting)‱One window didn’t lock, which I had to rig for safety as a solo traveler (I notified the host)Overall, a fantastic stay! I’d absolutely return and highly recommend it for a peaceful lakefront getaway.

A Week for School

I was in Elkhart for a week while I took a class at a local school. The residence was clean and well-maintained. Jade was communicating with me the whole time during my stay and I had no issues. I would definitely book again.

Property was neat and clean. Nice view of the lake. Great variety of nearby restaurants. Close to the RV factories that we came to tour. Would definitely stay again!

Senior Siesta

You don't need to be young and indulge yourself in boating, skiing, and other water sports to have a relaxing time here at Adorable Lakeside. Fantastic views of beautiful Simonton Lake. We stayed during mid-90's temperatures and found the large screened in porch grabbed most the breezes it could. Everything imaginable was provided inside the cottage so no need to overpack. The ONLY thing I suggest is to bring a step stool (as we did) as the bed is rather high. I'm sure we'll make a return trip sometime.

Super Clean, Great Bed, Peaceful

My adult daughter and I stayed 3 nights. The breeze off the lake was lovely and the sound of the water was soothing! We enjoyed eating on the patio and screened in porch. The place was VERY CLEAN, nicely decorated and looks newly remodeled. The bed was super comfy! We both slept better than we do at home! Although we didn't get the chance to use the kayaks, we were grateful they were available for use. The keyless entry was convenient. Jade was very nice and quick to respond. The only minor inconvenience was the narrow space on one side of the bed. Not a big deal. We had a lovely stay and recommend staying here if you need lodging in Elkhart!

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

This studio is part of my full-time home! Located on the beautiful Simonton Lake, the view simply can't be beat. The lake is beautiful whatever the season. Sunbathe, swim and float in the summer, enjoy the beauty of the fall foliage & spring flowers while kayaking the calm water, or enjoy the crisp air and picturesque backdrop with ice on the lake. This is the perfect location! Although it is a peaceful, quiet retreat away from the hassle of Notre Dame/South Bend traffic, it is convenient to everything! The studio is close to restaurants and bars, the 80/90 toll road, parks and beaches in the summer, and snowmobile trails in the winter.

This is the (private) basement unit of a home occupied by the owner. You will have your own entrance and the unit comes with a full kitchen, all appliances, private bathroom, and free washer and dryer. Note that the owner may be on the property at various times throughout your stay. You will also have access to the outdoor screened-in patio and shared beach space at the edge of the lake. The fire pit, kayaks, and paddleboat are available for guest use.
