À propos de cet hébergement
Sea Glass House - Atlantic Beach and Hannah Park!
Welcome to the Sea Glass House — your basecamp for Northeast Florida's most remarkable natural playground. Some places are just somewhere to sleep. The Sea Glass House is somewhere to land — a thoughtfully curated coastal sanctuary that gives you everything you need to adventure hard during the day and recover beautifully at night.
I'm Faye, your host. I discovered this neighborhood the way the best things tend to happen — unexpectedly. I fell in love with it as my first home in Jacksonville: the quiet streets, the proximity to one of Florida's most extraordinary parks, the feeling of being genuinely close to nature without giving up any comfort. I poured care into every corner of this house, and I hope you feel that the moment you walk in.
One mile from your front door sits Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park — and if you haven't heard of it, you're about to understand why locals guard it like a secret. This is not a typical Florida beach park. Hanna Park is 447 acres of rare, intact coastal hammock, one of the last of its kind on Florida's heavily developed Atlantic coast. It has 1.5 miles of pristine Atlantic beach, including The Poles, widely recognized as the premier surf break in all of Northeast Florida. It has over 20 miles of mountain bike trails ranging from wide, flat family paths to the legendary named trails — Grunt, Misery, Tornado Alley — that draw serious riders from across the region for sanctioned races. There's a 60-acre freshwater lake open for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and pedal boating with rentals available on-site, a 9-hole disc golf course, a kids' splash pad, and wildlife viewing of over 200 bird species, alligators, foxes, and sea turtles nesting on the beach from May through October. Unlike the manicured beach towns a few miles south, Hanna Park still feels genuinely wild — majestic oaks, boardwalks over protected dunes, and the sound of the ocean and nothing else.
The Sea Glass House earned its name honestly. Like sea glass, it's something that started as raw material and became beautiful through time and attention. Every room has been curated with unique antiques, whimsical original artwork, and design choices that reward a closer look.
The room guests can't stop talking about is the solarium — a glass-enclosed sanctuary with a hanging egg chair and light that shifts throughout the day in ways that feel almost cinematic. It's the kind of space that makes you want to linger over morning coffee and not look at your phone.
The kitchen is well equipped and genuinely functional, with granite countertops, a gas range with double oven and built-in air fryer, a Keurig coffee station stocked with starter supplies, a Ninja blender, and complete cookware, dishes, and dining essentials.
Two proper bedrooms, each designed for genuine rest. Memory foam beds with dual pillow options — down for those who love to sink in, cooling gel for those who run warm. Premium linens and smart TVs in every room. The king and queen bedrooms each have their own character while sharing the same commitment to comfort. There are two dedicated workspaces — one in the king bedroom and one in the shared living area — both with high-speed internet that genuinely supports video calls and real work. The living room is generous and social, with three fold-out couches that make the Sea Glass House comfortable for up to seven guests. A sunroom overlooks your private fenced yard and naturally becomes a favorite for morning coffee or evening wind-down.
The private fenced yard is the detail that matters most for guests traveling with pets — a secure outdoor space where your dog can decompress after a day at the park without worry. The Sea Glass House is genuinely pet-friendly, not just pet-tolerant. Nightly pet fees of $5 per pet apply and are billed separately.
The house sits in a quiet residential neighborhood one mile from Hanna Park, three miles from Atlantic Beach's dining corridor, four miles from Neptune Beach and the Beaches Town Center, and eight miles from Jacksonville Beach. Mayport Village — one of Florida's oldest communities and home to some of the freshest shrimp you'll ever eat — is just minutes away. For military families, Mayport Naval Station is two miles and NAS Jacksonville is eight miles, making the Sea Glass House a natural fit for TDY stays and family visits. The Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve is essentially adjacent. Big Talbot Island State Park, with its hauntingly beautiful driftwood-covered shores, is 20 miles north. Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach's historic district are 25 miles — worth a full day for the architecture, food, and quieter beach scene.
Your home arrives stocked with starter essentials including coffee, creamer, sugar, dish soap, hand soap, and paper goods. The full house is yours including the private fenced yard. Washer and dryer access is included for stays of seven nights or more. The garage is not included.
For larger groups, the adjacent Seahorse Studio is available as a separate listing — a fully independent studio suite with its own private entrance, queen bed, kitchenette, and luxury dual-head shower. Both units can be booked simultaneously for groups of up to ten guests while maintaining complete privacy between spaces.
Climate controls are set within reasonable ranges — cooling no lower than 70 degrees and heating no higher than 74 degrees. Check-in is after 3pm via smartlock. Checkout is by 10am. Maximum occupancy is seven guests.
There are plenty of places to stay near Jacksonville's beaches. Most of them are fine. The Sea Glass House is something different — a home that was genuinely loved, that has a point of view, and that sits at the doorstep of one of Florida's most underrated natural areas. If you want to mountain bike in the morning, surf in the afternoon, and come home to a beautiful space at night, this is your place.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement
Hanna Park is one of Florida's most extraordinary and least-known outdoor destinations — 447 acres of rare coastal hammock, the premier surf break in Northeast Florida, over 20 miles of mountain bike trails, a 60-acre freshwater lake, disc golf, wildlife, and sea turtle nesting season from May through October. The Sea Glass House puts you one mile from all of it, in a zip code without the short-term rental restrictions that limit options in neighboring Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach.
But this isn't just about location. This is a home that was genuinely loved. I lived here as my first Jacksonville home, and I designed it the way I wanted to live — with a glass-enclosed solarium for quiet mornings, real workspaces for people who need to stay productive, a kitchen you can actually cook in, and a private fenced yard where your pets can decompress after a day on the trails or the water. The curated antiques and original artwork throughout reflect real attention rather than a rental checklist.
For larger groups, the adjacent Seahorse Studio can be booked simultaneously, bringing total capacity to ten guests across two fully independent units with separate entrances and complete privacy between spaces. Whether you're a couple seeking a beautiful nature retreat, a family wanting genuine outdoor adventure, a remote worker who wants to surf before their first meeting, or a military family visiting Mayport or NAS Jacksonville, the Sea Glass House was designed with you in mind.
This is the rare rental that delivers on both sides of the equation — remarkable nature access and a home worth coming back to.
Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique
One mile from Hanna Park's 1.5 miles of Atlantic beach and The Poles, Northeast Florida's most celebrated surf break — closer than almost any rental property in the area.
Over 20 miles of mountain bike trails ranging from family-friendly to expert-level, a 60-acre freshwater lake with kayak and bike rentals available inside the park, disc golf, fishing, and 200+ bird species — all within a single park, one mile away.
Genuine pet-friendliness with a private fully fenced yard — not an afterthought, but a home actually designed around guests who travel with animals.
Two dedicated workspaces with high-speed internet — one private in the king bedroom, one in the shared living area — making this a legitimate work-from-anywhere base, not just a vacation rental with wifi.
A glass-enclosed solarium with hanging egg chair that guests consistently describe as the unexpected highlight of their stay.
Military-convenient location two miles from Mayport Naval Station and eight miles from NAS Jacksonville, with flexible check-in via smartlock suited to unpredictable travel schedules.
The option to book the adjacent Seahorse Studio simultaneously for groups of up to ten, across two fully independent units with separate entrances and no shared interior spaces.
A home with genuine character — curated antiques, original artwork, and design choices that reflect a real aesthetic rather than generic coastal decor.
