My husband and I stayed at The Walden from November 21st to November 23rd, and it was an unforgettable experience. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed inside and out. The views from the property are absolutely stunning, adding to the peaceful and romantic atmosphere.We especially loved the hot tub, which is conveniently located right off the primary suite—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery in total privacy. The short walk to the riverfront is another highlight. The area is set up with Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, and a grill, creating the perfect spot to unwind by the water. Although we didn’t get to use the grill this time, it’s at the top of our list for our next stay.The location is also great for exploring nearby Front Royal. Talk of the Mountain Crab Cakes served the best crab cakes—we loved it so much we went twice in two days! We also visited On the Cue Sports Bar & Grill, and you won’t be disappointed there either.Overall, we had a wonderful romantic weekend at The Walden. The host was incredibly accommodating, the property exceeded our expectations, and we truly can’t wait to book again. Highly recommend!

Great Cabin! So beautiful! It would be nice, when traveling from out of state, to have linens and bedding provided. I am new to Vrbo and didn't see the extra charge for these things. It seems like a hidden charge, although the point was made on the listing that there are not hidden charges. We still had a good experience overall.

What a wonderful cabin. Our family of four stayed here very comfortably. We made memories that will never be forgotten. There’s so much to do with the fire pit, jacuzzi and river front access. It was exactly what we wanted in order to unplug and be in nature. It’s such a beautiful spot.

The property is wonderful, and the cabin has just what you need, nothing more and nothing less. The fields and river provide a variety of outdoor activities, and Walden was an overall perfect experience for our small family of 3.

Had a wonderful stay at the Walden. Found the cabin to be neat and clean. Check in process was simple with lock box and code provided just prior to arrival. The location feels secluded although there are neighbors you can’t see them and rarely hear them. The private spot on the river is perfect for fishing, floating and wading. Can’t wait to go back.

Quiet and comfortable

Property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of room for the family to spread out. Walk down to the river was easy and path was mowed. Hot tub could use some maintenance, the jets did not seem to be working to full capacity, but it was clean and relaxing.

Walden was completed in February 2013. This deluxe one bedroom cabin offers all the modern amenities set in a unique private setting on the Shenandoah River.

Walden is located on the historic Shenandoah River bordering 50 acres of beautiful open land. Wildlife abounds on the property. A mowed path takes you to the river where you will find a firepit, chairs and easy access to the water. Wade into the Shenandoah and cast a line for some of the best small mouth bass fishing on the east coast.
