The Fish House - Midcentury Modern - À pied de la plage

Maison confortable avec charme de 1956, mais rĂ©novĂ©e avec toutes les nouvelles fenĂȘtres, sols en carrelage et moquette. La cuisine est basique mais fonctionnelle et a toujours son carrelage original rose et marron. Deux chambres ont des lits queen size et la taniĂšre a un canapĂ© dĂ©pliant de taille double. La troisiĂšme chambre a un lit double. Il y a deux salles de bains, une avec la tuile jaune originale de 1956 qui a Ă©tĂ© rafraĂźchie, et l'autre a Ă©tĂ© entiĂšrement rĂ©novĂ©e avec une douche de plain-pied carrelĂ©e. SituĂ© sur plus de quatre hectares, cette maison a une grande cour avec des cerfs et des oiseaux Ă  voir. Il y a une vue sur l'ocĂ©an bleu de l'ocĂ©an depuis le pont, et la plage est Ă  10 minutes Ă  pied. MacKerricher State Park se trouve entre cette maison et l'ocĂ©an. C'est un endroit idĂ©al pour les familles avec enfants ou pour les couples Ă  partager.

We loved this cozy, well appointed home. Wish we could have stayed longer. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook some delicious meals. We hope to come back to this delightful home.

This home is the best! It’s even better in person. It’s so charming and cozy. Everything works well, well stocked, comfortable, relaxing, and so many great books and beautiful works of art. The fireplace is wonderful. The couch and beds are so cozy. You can’t beat the view and short walk to the beach. We absolutely loved it here and hope to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fish House! A great location walking distance to the ocean, and a well equipped and very comfortable house. We enjoyed being able to hear the sound of the waves in the distance and seeing all the local deer. Will definitely return again!

Great getaway

We loved our stay at the Fish House. The property huge and is well manicured. The house is in great shape and clean. We rode our bikes 10min to the beach each day. Looking forward to staying again soon!

I’d stay a month

Peaceful, beautiful setting; house is comfortable and well-maintained, and it’s like a mid-century time capsule. Loved it.
MacKerricher Park is close by.

We loved this property! It’s conveniently located close to town, the beach, and the Skunk Train. The house was very cozy, we loved all the books, decor and hearing the ocean from the deck. Everything was very clearly labeled, which was handy and made everything straight forward and easy. The best part for us is that it was dog friendly! We all had a great trip and are talking about coming back already.

My favorite place on the Mendocino Coast

I've stayed at the Fish House several times over the last few years, and it's always been a wonderful experience in every way. Gracious and thoughtful hosts, comfortable house with all the amenities you really need, peaceful quiet neighborhood, fabulouse sunset views from the deck, large well-kept green-grass yard, etc. Just for starters. I always look forward to coming back. For me, it's perfect.

Our new favorite place

We wish we booked more than 7 nights at the Fish House. In fact, we’d love to buy the place and move in. It is just perfect for a relaxing, comfortable stay where you can enjoy the sight and sounds of the ocean, watch the sun set into the sea, and walk to the beach. This house has everything you’ll need, including plenty of soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The frog serenade at night was so relaxing. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will be back!

Girls trip

This was a wonderful house to make our mother daughter road trip so memorable. Wonderful location with views of land that will never be developed and of the ocean that you can hear and see in the distance. House was just as described. Clean and comfortable. The outside yard is perfect for dogs to run around and explore. We are already talking of coming back! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Well Kept up Property

We really enjoyed our month-long stay. Everything worked as it should. The gas fireplace was much appreciated for a little extra on some rainy evenings. Really nice house and lovely yard. Even the wildlife visitors were polite to us.

Wonderful stay, wonderful people

The Fish House is the best. Peacefull, quiet, comfortable, very clean and well-maintained, gorgeous well-kept yard set in natural surroundings abutting McKerracher State Park, QUIET neighborhood, great deck with nice deck chairs and expansive views (best place to watch sunsets), easy walks to the beach and Haul Road. The loving care the owners have put into this house over the years is evident in every room. Well stocked kitchen, all appliances working perfectly, modern upgrades like gas fireplace insert and big-screen smart TV, double-pane windows, beautiful and historically interesting interior. And, of course, exceptionally generous and responsive owners.

My absolutely favorite place to stay

Comfortable, peaceful, quiet, very clean, with an expansive, beautifully maintained yard set in natural surroundings abutting McKerracher State Park in a quiet, wooded neighborhood with easy walks to the beach, and amazing views from the deck. The care and attention to detail the owners have put in this house over the years is a pleasing revelation in every room. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to prepare your own meals in, all appliances work perfectly. The modern upgrades like gas fireplace insert, double pane windows, and big-screen smart TV are all tastefully integrated without detracting from the historically engaging interior. But most of all, I was impressed by the generosity and responsiveness of the owners. They’re the best.

My husband and I recently retired to Fort Bragg, my husband's home town. He grew up in this house, and after his mother passed away, we decided to keep it in the family and use it as an extra home for when family visits and also as a vacation rental.

This home has been owned by my husband's family since 1959, and we are pretty attached to it and want to honor its history. It is a very comfortable home which holds many wonderful memories.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

This home has lots of charm with its redwood ceilings, beams and lots of paneling. The setting is quiet and woodsy, but it is still easy to run into Fort Bragg to shop and eat.
