NEIGHBORHOOD:
Nestled in the Sand Lake area outside of National City, MI, this lakefront retreat offers a peaceful escape while remaining close to local attractions. Sand Lake is home to dining options like Galli's Restaurant, known for its warm atmosphere and delicious comfort food, and the Cast Iron Grill, a local favorite for hearty meals and friendly service. With plenty of scenic spots and outdoor activities, Sand Lake provides a quiet retreat surrounded by natural beauty. Note that the 4th of July is extra special, with grilling on the deck and the lakeside fire pit providing a front row seat to the local fireworks display.
Just a short drive away, Tawas City offers even more opportunities for exploration. Situated along the shores of Lake Huron, Tawas boasts beautiful sandy beaches perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and watersports. The town is full of charming shops, restaurants, and waterfront parks, making it an excellent destination for a day trip. Whether you're strolling through downtown, grabbing a bite at a lakeside eatery, or taking in breathtaking views of the water, Tawas City brings the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure to your stay.
ACCESS:
Guests have access to the entire property except for an owner's closet.
SPACE:
The home features a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher, making meal prep a breeze. The master bedroom upstairs boasts a private ensuite bathroom, a secluded balcony, and its own mini-split A/C unit for personalized comfort. The basement offers another living room, complete with a TV and toys for young children, providing an extra space for entertainment and relaxation.
For those who need to stay connected, there is a dedicated office space perfect for working remotely or catching up on emails. Additionally, a separate laundry area is equipped with a washer and dryer, making it convenient to keep clothes fresh during your stay.
Step outside to enjoy direct lake access on Bass Lake, complete with a private dock and canoe available for guest use. The large deck features plenty of seating, two tables, and a propane grill, making it ideal for outdoor dining. A charming wooden pathway leads to a firepit near the lake—perfect for unwinding while taking in the serene water views.
TRANSIT:
It is highly recommended that guests have their own vehicle.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
1) SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited.
2) CAPACITY: No more than 8 guests are in total.
3) PET POLICY: We allow up to 2 dogs at the property. Pets other than dogs are not permitted. More than 2 dogs is also prohibited. Pets are not permitted on furniture and they are not permitted to be left at the property alone. If bringing a dog or 2, please make certain that they are included on the reservation and that the pet fee is paid.
4) INDOOR FIREPLACE: The indoor fireplace is available for use by guests.
5) AIR CONDITIONING: The home does NOT have central air conditioning, but 2 of the 3 bedrooms do have A/C units in them.
6) CHILD AMENITIES: There is a crib and a pack and play available for guest usage. Note that there is no longer a high chair available for use.
7) NUMBER OF GUESTS: Please note that our pricing is based upon the number of guests, with pricing being higher with each additional guest that is included on the reservation. Please make certain that the correct number of guests is specified on the reservation so that the pricing is correct.
8) EARLY CHECK-IN: Our policy is to allow early check-in on the day of arrival if the property is available for check-in. We will not know until the day before arrival whether or not the property will be available for early check-in or not. You can check with our local property manager the day before arrival or on your arrival day to see if the property will be available for early check-in or not.
9) LATE CHECK-OUT: We maintain a very strict and structured cleaning schedule. As such, late check-outs are strictly prohibited.
10) FOURTH OF JULY: The 4th of July is extra special, with grilling on the deck and the lakeside fire pit providing a front row seat to the local fireworks display.

7 Oaks at Bass Lake
We enjoyed a fantastic 2 weeks at the cottage at 7 Oaks on Bass Lake. For this being a fairly new listing, it was everything we were looking for. We enjoyed fishing, sitting by the fire and playing games on the back deck. The cottage is quite spacious and allowed us our own privacy if we needed it. There were 2 couples that stayed and we all had a great time. We would recommend this property to those looking for a lakefront property to rent.
