Peace and quiet.

Very peaceful setting. Unit was very nice. Tastefully decorated. The only thing I wish it had was a full size fridge. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

We felt that the place was deceivingly small. It was poorly stocked with the basics, ie, kitchen sponges, garbage bags, batteries. But, all of this could’ve been overlooked but the internet was barely working if sporadically and this caused a huge disruption in our stay. It was never resolved. It was clean, though.

Easy check in process, cute cabin in awesome location. Cleanliness was unnecessarily not up to par as in the shower had mold in it and the cleaners don’t clean under the couch/bed which would be so easy to move. If the owners pay someone to clean they’re getting ripped off. WiFi didn’t work… couldn’t contact the owner without WiFi because we had no cell service at all. The pool is super cool but old and no one maintains it daily so have to clean out the pbugs/leaves yourself but my kids still loved it. Would stay there again but hope the owners switch cleaning companies for their sake!

Hi Patricia, the homeowner was surprised to read your review, as they're accustomed to providing excellent guest experiences, and would like to clarify the following:- We wish you had reached out to us during your stay so we could’ve promptly addressed your concerns for a most comfortable stay. - The pool is managed by the Laurel Mountain Pool Community HOA and is regularly cleaned and tested for safety. There may have been some debris from a storm, which would have been promptly addressed. The pool was not closed during your stay, which indicates it met safety standards.- We use high-quality Beauty Rest mattresses in our properties, which are designed to suit a wide range of preferences. While we understand mattress firmness is subjective, we do provide mattress toppers for guests who prefer a softer feel. We regularly rotate the mattresses at least once a year to maintain their comfort.- The dining area features a beautiful marble-top, mahogany-base table, as shown in our recent professional photos on the listing. If there were any concerns, we would've addressed them immediately if contacted.- The ice maker has been in the cottage for about five years and is easy to clean and consistently maintained. We're planning to replace the current mini-fridge with a model that has a built-in ice maker to provide guests with more counter space.We work hard to provide a wonderful stay for all visitors and look forward to hosting many satisfied guests.

Wonderful, cute getaway

The property, the cabin, and the area were beautiful! The only reason this stay received a 4 instead of a 5 is related to the bed. The bed was not comfortable at all, and it was in the middle of the room with no headboard, which made it difficult to sit up and watch TV propped up with pillows. We spent most of our time out of the cabin, but when it was time to wind down is when these things were most noticeable. Otherwise, everything was beautiful, and it was very easy to book and communicate as needed.

Nice Location but disappointing rental

The place was a bit crowded, but nice and mostly clean, except for mildew in the shower. There was no table and chairs to eat at, only a low coffee table and 2 folding camp chairs, very awkward. The dorm style refrigerator did not have a freezer which was a problem for us. The bedroom with the bunk beds has a terrible gas smell from the water heater in the closet. We could hear gunshots outside which scared our dog.

Hi Sosimo, The homeowners were saddened to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following: - Thank you for choosing to stay in our Laughlintown, Pennsylvania vacation rental and leaving a review, as guest feedback is vitally important to us and the success of our vacation rental business. - We understand the dining setup might not have been what you expected. The home does have a small antique marble-topped table for 2-3 diners and multiple director-style chairs, which are comfortable and easy to store. Larger tables are available on-site and could have been set up upon request.- We're sorry about the mildew in the shower. We actively check for mold and treat it aggressively with a bleaching agent and benachromium peroxide. We'll inspect the shower for any mildew and address it immediately.- We apologize for the inconvenience with the refrigerator. It is a wine fridge that can be adjusted to lower temperatures to freeze items. We plan to replace it with a combination fridge/freezer for future guests.- We're sorry for the gas smell in the bedroom. This is from a dried P-pipe in the mechanical closet, and pouring water into the overflow pipe resolves this issue. We’ll ensure this is immediately addressed. - We understand the concern about the gunshots. This sound is likely from nearby shooting ranges or hunting activities, which are common in the area. We're sorry this disturbed your dog.We truly go above and beyond for our guests as referenced in all of our wonderful reviews.

Perfect getaway

Lovely, quiet* well-designed space - such a perfect place to recharge your batteries. We arrived late at night and were pleasantly surprised by how lovely this little cabin is but ultimately stayed in the larger house adjacent to it by the good grace of the owner. I am sure we would have been quite comfortable in this cabin which was newly built, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with radiant floor heating, wood burning stove and plenty of comforts, but I had NOT READ the description closely and brought food-in this small kitchenette there is only a wine chiller for storage not a 40 degree fridge. The host was gracious and an excellent communicator, and offered us the option to stay in the adjacent house 50 feet away which we accepted. This space was quite the upgrade, so the rest of my review can’t speak to an experience of staying in this cabin. The property around the cabin made for comfortable walking, and Linn Run state park and Forbes Forest were excellent for hiking nearby. The cabin is tucked back far enough from Lincoln Highway as to be very quiet but *close enough to the Rolling Rock Club as might be disconcerting for someone with PTSD from gunshot noise. That was not a concern for us but worth noting. We brought our dog who is often sensitive to such things but he managed to be pretty chill the whole time. It is a great space for your dog. I can’t say enough nice things about the property or the owner and we will hopefully stay again in the future.

Cozy and quiet.

The property itself was clean and in good working order. Check in was easy. Ample linens, silverware, cleaning supplies and dried wood available onsite. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the bunk beds, loft area, outdoor rocking chairs and fire pit. There’s no freezer, oven, or formal dining area. The one coffee table needs replaced. It has a really heavy marble top that lays, unsecured on top of a flimsy wooden base. My husband bumped it with his knee and the whole top slid off. So just watch your toes. The area is a more suburban feel than I would have liked. The neighbors were quiet and friendly though, and many of the homes immediately surrounding the property appeared to be vacate at the time we were there. If you go on a busy weekend, it is possible you’ll be surrounded on all sides. The pool was a quick walk down the road but was really a disappointment. The whole area was run down. Overgrown weeds. Mouse droppings on the kitchen floor of the “beach house”. The smell of mold and mildew. The water seemed to be treated, and there were inflatables available, but the pool was littered with leaves, dirt, bugs and the peeling paint of the floor. We tried to clean it up and make the best of it. The bathroom facilities there worked at least but had no extra stocked soap or toilet paper. I wouldn’t say it’s an asset to this property. Not bad in all. It was cozy and my 3 year old still asks to go back lol.

Relaxing little cabin

Second time we stayed in this cabin and still love it. The interior is top notch. We love the area. Last year we did lots of hiking at nearby Linn Run State Park during the peak foliage. The scenery is tough to beat. It rained the entire time we were there this year. But that was a blessing in disguise. The wife and our 10 year old were able to hang out, play some board games and relax. It was perfect. I was also able to toss on the rain gear and catch some small native and wild PA brook trout on a local stream in the pouring down rain. Which was perfect. This cabin is a nice little getaway from a busy life.

Fantastic Cabin!

This is our second time staying at this cabin. It's such a great space. It's kept incredibly clean and it's perfect for the two of us. The area is great to walk around and it's close to everything. We would definitely recommend this to others and we look forward to staying again in the future.

A Wonderful Getaway

The owner is great. The property, living quarters, amenities, accommodations, and location are fantastic. The relaxing, laid back time spent with my wife and daughter was pure bliss. We loved our time there so much, we paid the owner directly to stay an additional night. We plan on many return trips.

Cozy cottage!

This was a great little cottage! The pictures were very good, note the queen/full bed is in the living room and not in the loft which we were happy about....didn't want to climb the ladder each night :) It was VERY clean and nicely done. The area was very quaint and nice to walk around. Our 2 dogs felt right at home. There was a nice size deck outside and a fire pit area with plenty of wood. We really enjoyed our stay!

Awesome little cabin!

The cabin is on a beautiful wooded lot in a great location. All of the cabin/houses nearby are very nice as well. The inside of the cabin was nicer looking than the pictures could portray. Wood for the stove and fire pit were provided. It was the exact kind of quiet weekend in the mountains that my family was looking for. It even had Comcast tv and WiFi to keep our 8 year old occupied while we got ready for the day/night. There is a small portion of Forbes State Forest about a half of a mile away for a quick hike. We also took the short drive to Linn Run State Park to hike as well. It didn’t hurt that the leaves were at their peak when we were there. Loved this cabin. We will stay there again.
