Large and beautiful house rental in Mystic within walking distance to downtown restaurants, shopping, Mystic River. The house is walkable to Mystic Seaport and a 5 min drive to Mystic Aquarium. The spectacular 1869 house with large cobblestone driveway and spacious backyard features top-of-the-line modern finishes while maintaining the historic charm of Mystic. The 6-bedroom home is a perfect house rental for families or groups who want to experience the best of New England in a prime location.
Stunning historical 1869 Second Empire style home in the heart of Mystic and steps to the Mystic River and historic drawbridge. This beautifully restored Victorian-era home is the perfect mixture of modern updates and preserved history from the detailed architecture of the Mansard roof and dormers to the quartz counters and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. Admire the gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the house as you walk from room to room; to the right of the foyer is the large living room with two doorways for easy flow into the kitchen and breakfast area. The bright dining room features ornate trim and floor-to-ceiling windows. An additional spacious library/home office offers another space for gathering with family and friends, and features sliding doors to the back deck that overlooks the luscious grass and garden of the large private backyard. A half-bathroom and laundry room complete the main floor. I am a history buff and was fortunate to grow up on the CT coastline surrounded by old Victorian homes filled with character and beauty. I started building furniture and restoring vintage pieces in my teens and parlayed that interest into a career restoring and designing older homes that need some love and attention. The result is a beautiful reconciliation of modern convenience and nostalgic charm where guests can experience a beautiful piece of history.

The historic district in Mystic, CT is one of the prettiest neighborhoods in New England. The homes are pristine and well taken care of and reflect their maritime history and nod to the past. The neighborhood winds around and parallels the Mystic River and drawbridge, one of the oldest in the United States. There are boats and sailboats and mature coastal plantings that dot the entire community. Further, the historic district is a mere 5 minute stroll to downtown Mystic shops, restaurants, boutiques and Mystic Seaport.
Importantly the neighborhood is a vibrant community where neighbors all wave to one another and lemonade stands and a hopscotch pattern is etched into the sidewalk directly in front of the house. The neighborhood is as special as the house!
