The Inn at White Gate Farm est situé dans le sud-est du Connecticut sur 100 acres de champs, de bois et d'étangs en croissance, avec une vaste façade sur le lac. Overall, the house was perfect for our family of 13 Thanksgiving! Kevin was wonderful with helping with any little problems we came across. My sister and I visited the Gillette Castle, which is only a 30 minute Back road drive! I highly recommend it!We cooked a beautiful turkey Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was delicious and raised right there on the white gate farm. I also ordered two gluten-free pies. The pecan rum was out of this world! I need that recipe!We hope to come back to this beautiful setting perhaps next Thanksgiving or the year after

We rented the entire Inn for a long weekend. The kitchen was fully equipped and easy to work in. Kevin, the Inn Keeper was fantastic. He was able to answer any questions we had and offer recommendations.We also had a family memorial service and the the Inn catered the event for us. Tami G, the head chef was amazing to work with! It was nice having the Farm Stand near by for the wonderful sourdough bread along with other delicious backed goods on Saturday/Sunday. We will definitely be back to White Gate Farm!

We rented the full Inn as well as the "inlet" property attached to it for our wedding at the farm. Our family and close friends spent the weekend with us and enjoyed the pool, grounds, and farm stand. I don't think anyone left without some baked goods and vegetables. Our family raved about the experience and the food. The kitchen is large and well out-fitted with anything one could need for cooking. This allowed for us to make a huge family breakfast which everyone enjoyed in the dining room. The rooms all have their own special character and the beds are all extremely comfortable. The staff were accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend the Inn for your next event or family gathering.

The Farm House was the perfect setting for our family reunion, 10 adults, 4 children. Most of our time was spent in the pool area, which is very family friendly. The house is very comfortable, bed rooms are large and many bathrooms throughout. The kitchen is very well stocked, plenty of service for 14 people and all the gadgets we needed. The kids also enjoyed walking the grounds and seeing the animals on the farm.

Perfect destination for active families who love outdoor sports and relaxed comfortable evenings. Wholesome organic foods with incredibly delicious baked goods. Lots of hiking, swimming, kayaking. The small army of staff who sustain the farm are uber friendly and willing to answer questions and show off the critters . A nearby trip to Mystic aquarium should not be missed.

Lovely property, beautiful inn for our family of 14. We all enjoyed the pool, lake, badminton and green space. Special treat to see newborn baby chicks twice and hold them! Kitchen is very well equipped. Having a washer/dryer important too. Kevin and Pauline were helpful.

Wonderful stay!!

We had such an amazing time here and are planning to return for our next family vacation! The house was clean and spacious and the communication was phenomenal. Everyone we interacted with at the farm was kind, caring, and helpful. There is so much to do at the farm and in the surrounding area. We could not recommend this place more! Best vacation ever!

We were a group of 13 ( 9 adults and 4 children (2 dogs!)) who just stayed a week in the inn. The house is lovely and it is large and our big group slept very comfortably in the 7 bedrooms. We had a dinner prepared by Tami for 18 one night and it was delicious! Kevin, the property manager was just great. The pool was a favorite but everyone really loved the lake. There is a private dock and little beach and kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe just for the inn guests. The water was warm and the little beach was just sandy enough to make it great for the kids. We had people out on the lake early in the morning and after dinner many evenings. On the farm we saw beautiful gardens, small ponds, bee hives, lambs, chickens and turkeys. Kevin, Pauline, David, Corey and all the others we met on the farm were extremely nice to our group. We were able to participate in the moving of the lambs from one field to the other which the kids will never forget. One unexpected treat was that there were several different controllers for air conditioning so that we could adjust night time temperatures to match different choices. We went to the Essex Train, Gillette Castle, the Submarine Force Museum, Devils Hopyard water falls, the town of Mystic and Chester. All of these things were a 15-25 min distance from the farm. Also, as FYI, Costco and Stop and Shop are about 7 minutes away This was truly a wonderful week for our group and we highly recommend it to others.

The Inn and all the staff went so far beyond our expectations. Our daughter and son in law had their wedding celebration on the farm last week. The inn itself is absolutely beautiful. The surroundings are idyllic. We couldn’t have had a better experience staying here.

Fabulous property

This was our second visit, and we loved it just as much. The farm has so many great features ... the lovely indoor decor; the expansive, interesting outdoors; the well-tended pool; a kitchen comfortable for multiple cooks; central air conditioning; easy proximity to shopping, but total quiet at the site. I could go on listing advantages, but no more space. We were 11 adults of 3 generations.

Idyllic Country Estate

My husband and I stayed at this property with our family members over the New Year's holiday (Dec. 27th to Jan. 3rd). We had the most amazing time. The house has such wonderful space (huge family room/dining area with an super-sized propane fireplace, large kitchen, and family members got their pick of the numerous bedrooms and bathrooms). Its central location to so many other CT towns makes the property even more special and of course, the immense acreage with the plentiful fields and ponds/lakes makes you feel you are on the most spectacular country estate. Our large mixed breed dog so enjoyed the countless walks we took and smelling every little thing on the property. We thought that we would love to come visit again during the spring/summer/fall to see how different the farm would look during those seasons. The property is so very special and Pauline and Kevin made us feel very "at home" which is the greatest compliment at a VRBO. Thank you for being such great hosts. We hope to return one day soon.

Perfect!!

Our family of 15 couldn’t have been more pleased!The house accommodated us all with room to congregate in the great room and eat together at the large dining table.The kitchen was large and we were able to prepare meals and bake for the holidays!We were very comfortable in the bedrooms and the property was amazing.We were greeted upon arrival and checked in on to make sure we had everything we needed.The children loved seeing the chickens and rolling down the hill!!One of our best stays! Highly recommend.

WG farm was just lovely, and met our needs in every way possible. We wanted a NE farm experience for T-giving and we got it. Everything was beyond expected. Lovely time was had by all!

White Gate Farm was purchased by the owner's mother Ruth Lord in 1974. The daughter of HF duPont of Winterthur, Ruth was drawn to the beautiful land. Her house -- now the inn -- has antiques from her father as well as artwork by her friends Andrew Wyeth and James Stevenson. In 2000, Ruth's daughter Pauline moved with her husband David Harlow from California to begin farming the land. With their crew they grow 55 different crops, all organic. They also raise turkeys, chickens for eggs and meat, and lambs. Chefs make prepared foods and pastries for the farm's online store, open year round, and they are happy to discuss preparing private dinners for Inn guests.

The surrounding farm is immaculate and offers hiking, swimming, lake activities and visiting animals. We have passes to Niantic beaches for your use.
