Escape to this adorable cottage built in 1965 as a fisherman's cabin in picturesque Athens with views of Lake Wheeler. Enjoy three spacious bedrooms, featuring two comfortable queen size beds and 2 double beds. The bathroom is equipped with a full size tub, shower, double sinks and laundry area for added convenience. Whether you’re cooling off or warming up, the cottage offers both air conditioning, heating, TV's and wifi to keep you comfortable year-round. Complete with a second floor balcony, an outdoor fire pit and indoor wood burning brick fireplace. Simple things like new appliances with modern touches like full size refrigerator with ice maker and filtered water, full size stove and oven. Just like home you have a dishwasher, microwave and coffee makers. There is plenty of comfortable seating including a dining area for eight that makes this cottage easy to feel right at home. A 3 tapped beer kegorator bar on the spacious front porch is available for use if notified prior to your stay for an additional fee. Contact the host for details. Plenty of parking for several cars and boats. Guests can unwind and relax after a day of exploring the Lake around the community or nearby Lucy's Branch Marina featuring seasonal live music food and fun. Experience what Athens and the Tennessee River has to offer with a stay at our fantastic cottage. Pet friendly and plenty of yard to roam. Pet fee is $150.00 per pet, per stay up to 4 pets. Additional charges per pet will be requested after the initial pet fee for one pet is charged at booking. Fishing poles and basic tackle provided. Exterior security cameras on the property.

Clean, comfortable and just as described, this was the perfect base for a week of motorcycling. Mark and Jackie were standout hosts, especially with their prompt messaging and easy check-in/check-out steps. I definitely recommend them and the property!

They really thought about YOUR experience here! From pre-stacking the fire pit, to dog treats, to filtered water, to MANY beach and bath towels, to the ingredients for a few s'mores, to basic condiments, lots of cooking supplies/utensils, upscale appliances, there is enough here to give you a leisurely stay, and then some. The fans have remotes, the lighting is perfect, TWO hammocks, comfortable beds, comfortable couch. Fishing rods, metal firepit skewers, wine glasses, and CHILLED glass mugs in the freezer! Very spacious and well-stocked place that begs you to come back.

This cabin is straight from the heavens!The seating indoor and outdoor creates such a welcoming environment. The view of the lake in June from the top balcony is good for me! I can see the whitecaps as a storm rolls thru. I’m on a hammock on the top deck and could stay here for hours. The lot and fire pit are well maintained. Plenty of wood. The best part? The hosts have created an atmosphere of whimsy, relaxation, cheer, coziness, and thoughtful, even luxury amenities (such as the chilled carafe of water in my room when I arrived.) I love it here!

Pictures don’t do the cabin justice. We’ve stayed at other properties on VRBO and have been slightly let down. This was beyond our expectations. Decorations are as thoughtful as the owners reaching out to see if they had any age appropriate toys for our little ones. My little daughter was sad to leave and asked if we could return soon, to which we replied, “Absolutely!”

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Reel Sunset is just that. It is a place where I can unwind from the noise of life and take in the fresh air. Hear the birds and the water of lake wheeler. It is so peaceful. My happy place. In the fall you can get a full view of the lake and the sunsets are Amazing from the upper and lower decks. The neighbors are friendly and watch out for each other. A pleasant, quiet community for sure.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Originally built in 1965 as a fishermans cabin. It has been added on over the years but maintains the spirit and feel of a cabin in the woods. I would say it stands out in the neighborhood just by the way it sits perched over the surrounding pennensula and riverfront neighbors. To me it’s special.
