Step into the newly redecorated grand great room featuring soaring ceilings and large windows framing the captivating beauty of the Sierra seasons. Natural light fills the space as laughter fills the air, with families and friends cooking together in the fully stocked kitchen. Memories are made around shared meals, while the crackling fireplace adds cozy warmth to this inviting chalet. During the season, gather around the smokeless firepit on the patio as the sun sets for magical Sierra evenings under the stars, with comfortable Adirondack chairs perfect for lingering long into the night.

With three spacious bedrooms, a large loft, and three full baths, there's ample room for family and friends to spread out and relax comfortably. The loft doubles as a media, entertainment, and game space, perfect for cozy evenings or fun-filled afternoons.

Very nice cabin, bathroom on each floor, comfortable beds and sheets, very well appointed kitchen. Literally felt like home! Host was very good with communication! We were 7 adults 1 kid. So much to do in the area! We had a BLAST!!

We had a wonderful stay at Al’s Chalet! The cabin was so comfortable and spacious for our group of 9, and the kids absolutely loved having the loft as their own little hangout spot. Spending our evenings around the fire under the towering pines and string lights was the best way to close out our days. The kitchen and amenities were well-equipped with everything we needed for a seamless trip. A extra-special thank you to our host for accommodating an early check-in—the hospitality was top-notch from start to finish. We would love to come back!

This cabin is such a gem! The hosts are very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. The cabin fit our large party of 10 perfectly, with tons of space, clean comfortable beds, plenty of towels and supplies and beautiful decorations. The location is gorgeous and we had an amazing stay! We would highly recommend this cabin for a perfect mountain getaway!

Jorge and his family were excellent first guests after we redecorated our chalet! His family and him reached out to ask questions and were appreciate of responses and above all the fully stocked cabin! They also raved about the decor and the comfort it provided! Would love to host them again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Al’s Chalet. There were seven of us and the home felt spacious and comfortable throughout. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were stocked with all the essentials. I especially appreciated the thoughtful “forgot anything?” basket—such a nice touch when traveling in a hurry. Highly recommend!

This is a cabin we had booked before that is under new ownership, and has been refurbished. Pros: - Improvements made all over, with major improvements to kitchen, couches, and dining table. - Space is good for kids- It was close by to another cabin that our friends rented- Checkout policy was generally good, and the very good host was accommodating of a late checkout request. - New Firepit area was great!Cons: - The former King Beds were changed out for smaller furniture, which lowered the overall comfort of the sleeping arrangements by a pretty wide margin. - A couple screens need to be replaced, as they are missing or damaged.- They seemed weirdly fastidious about the game room, insisting more than once that it should be put back "EXACTLY as found"... we gave it a good effort, but may not have been exact with everything. Other Notes: - There is no A/C in this cabin - this made the screen repair issue more irritating.- King bed is quite firm and may not be suitable for side-sleepers. - You have to sneak past sleeping kids in the bunk bed or go upstairs if you want to get to the bathroom from the king bed downstairs. I'd recommend to the host to add a keypad lock upstairs, too, as that's the main floor of the house. Verdict: - The improvements made to this are largely quite successful, but the lack of AC in the summertime combined with the loss of king sized beds knocks it down a small notch overall. This still deserves to be highly ranked, though.

What drew us to Camp Connell was simple — it feels like the Sierra the way it's supposed to. No crowds, no noise, just pines as far as you can see and a community that takes pride in keeping it that way. We love that guests can spend a morning at the Big Trees Village pool with the kids, an afternoon hiking through the forest, and an evening around the firepit without ever getting in a car. That kind of effortless variety is hard to find

We've stayed in enough mountain rentals to know what's usually missing for big groups — enough bathrooms, enough sleeping space, enough common areas to actually enjoy each other's company. Al's Chalet was our answer to that. Three full baths, sleeping for twelve across thoughtfully arranged bedrooms and a loft, a grand great room built for gathering, and outdoor firepit seating for those Sierra evenings that you never want to end. Add in pool and tennis access at Big Trees Village Rec Center and you have a property that works as hard for a multigenerational family trip as it does for a friends' reunion weekend.
