History:
Unlike other families who arrived in the 1780s and 90s our ancestor Jean Camus didn't settle in the region until the 1820s. From Baie St-George, Newfoundland, Jean Camus was born between 1792 and 1799 and is the ancestor of all the Camus of Chéticamp. He and his wife Marie Deveau had a son, Jean-Alexandre, born on December 5, 1822.
