Get ready to sit on the front deck, across the street from the Intracoastal with your family and friends. Two Queen Comfy bedrooms, two full bathroom in Sunset Harbor adjacent to Oak Island. Our community is very safe, traffic free, with amazing sunsets. 15-20 minutes from Oak Island Beach depending on traffic and how you drive. Our community offers a 24/7 free boat launch/fishing pier, a two minute drive, our Intracoastal beach is also within walking distance. We provide beach toys, chairs, bicycles in our out building. The Retreat features two queen beds and a cozy living room with a sofa bed, perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. The soothing atmosphere invites you to unwind, while the superb layout ensures comfort throughout your stay. Whether you’re curling up with a book or sharing stories in the living area or on the deck enjoying your favorite beverage listening to the waves crash on the beach of Oak Island which is adjacent to the intracoastal waterway. The kitchen has just about anything you could need, two charcoal grills are also available. This enchanting retreat feels like a true home away from home. Spend your day exploring Southport, Oak Island, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington or take the ferry to Fort Fisher then come home to our enchanting community to enjoy a sunset, dinner at FelixCafe, or take a walk to look for dolphins. No traffic, peace and quiet. You’re sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place. We are pet friendly, one dog, must be friendly, leashed when outside, cannot be left alone for more than three hours at which time must be crated. This is their vacation, being left in a strange place is inhumane. Oak Island, Southport and surrounding areas are all fur baby friendly.
We don’t charge a cleaning fee, in return we appreciate our guests leaving The Retreat as clean and organized as when you arrived. If additional services are required you will be billed for services. In seven years everyone has been great!

We had a very relaxing stay. The location is very peaceful and serene and the accommodations were perfect. The host was excellent and promptly responded when we had questions about the retreat. Putting this one on the list for the next beach trip!

Slight musty smell upon arrival triggered some allergies requiring otc meds. Rooms a little crowded with furniture…sometimes less is more…? Great showers! Location excellent! I liked the wallboard…simplistic and cozy. Really didn’t have to use kitchen area but it was very well stocked with wares. Howes point beautiful. Host was very attentive all week with suggestions & recommendations for local activities. Would definitely stay again for the price! Thanks again!

Thanks for your reply. Vacationing across the street from the intracoastal if you are from WV might affect your sense of smell. It’s salt air…just a little musty. One reason we love it here. Glad you were able to enjoy the early morning fishing, biking and the beauty of our community.

Be prepared to CLEANLoved the location, however if u have children that are or if you are allergic to poision ivy its all around. This lady wont charge a cleaning fee, however EXPECTS you to clean. I had a dog to pee on a kitchen rug and I missed washing the rug. She claimed he pooped on the side of a high bed...hes a teacup chihuahua. Plus I kept bedroom doors closed. Was indirectly accused of taking A towel. I have gone back through our belongings if it was here I pay her or send the dang thing back. I dont go on vacaction to steal. I even cleaned the toilet after my guest had an accident. Although the location is nice I wont be back to this one

Kimberely thank you for your review, unforuntely there are several false allrgations. 1. poision ivy all over the yard, i have a landscaper that takes care of these issues. i went back to my property to look for the abundance of ivy only to see two small plants, which were removed. 2. you brought two dogs and are refusing to pay for the dog not listed.3. dog poop was on the floor next to the bed in the front bedroom. 4. urine was in the hallway in two spots, large kitchen rug had three large urine stains, dried poop behind recliner in livig room. 5. i don”t charge a cleaning fee , in return guests are asked to leave as clean as when you arrived. two cleaning people, two hre of cleaningafter you left. 6. VRBO has contacted you with regards to extra $50 cleaning fee and $60 pet fee. you are refusing to pay. you stated their was only one dog yet your text messages state “BOTH DOGS”. 7. Dogs were to be crated when you were not home, as instructions state, if you are gone dogs must be crated. the number you provided with VRBO was not in service. I tried messageing you several times over the course of three days you did not respond.When I stopped by to check if you were ok , I could hear the dogs running around not crated. I left you a note asking for you to get in touch. 8. The towel is not a big deal, I asked if you accidently packed it.9. Pet hair w3as on all the furniture, plaque states “ please do not let dog on furniture. wish you nothing but the best.

Was the perfect place for 2 people and a dog. plenty of space didn’t have to share a bathroom 5 minute bike ride to the pier or the intercoastal Beach. 15 minute drive to Holden or oak island beach will definitely be back!

My family had a fantastic vacation at this property. The house was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. The location is optimal for driving to Oak Island or Holden Beach. My kids enjoyed the bicycles and were able to ride to the fishing pier, which has incredible sunsets btw! Property owner was very nice and communicated very well. The was very responsive to any needs we had. We will definitely stay here again.
