The Space:

This charming cottage in South Beach features ocean views, a pet-friendly attitude, and all the comforts of home!



Located about five miles south of Newport, in South Beach, this home is close to the ocean so you can hear the waves crashing on the shore and hear the gulls. The easiest beach access is about two miles south at Ona Beach State Park, which also has parking, picnic areas, a boat launch on the creek. If you feel like heading into the city, Newport is less than 10 minutes up the road, and Lincoln City is a scenic 35-minute drive north.



This one-bedroom, one-bathroom home is well-suited for two visitors, though it can accommodate up to three as long as one person is willing to sleep on a sofa. The living room is a cozy space, complete with an electric fireplace, TV with cable and DVD player, a shelf of books, and a sliding glass door that allows great views of the sea. There's even a turntable and a selection of records! A retro kitchen may look compact, but it has all the necessities. This home even has a laundry area, which will come in handy after a few days of playing on the beach.



Down the hallway is a full bathroom with an old-fashioned bathtub and shower. The bedroom features a warm and cozy full-size bed and another sliding glass door that leads out to the deck, where you can sit and breathe in the fresh sea air. You're even welcome to bring one dog with you, though please note that a nightly pet fee will apply.



This home is an ideal size for two guests, so bring your sweetheart, a friend, or a close family member for a great beach getaway (or treat yourself to a solo vacation)! With so much to do in Newport, including the famous Oregon Coast Aquarium, antique shops, beach access, numerous fantastic restaurants, and much more, you won't have trouble finding ways to stay busy here.

This is such a secret gem! Listening to the waves at night and the local owl put us right to sleep. So relaxing! The old school charm was perfect. Definitely coming back.

This quaint beach cottage was more than we hoped for. The beach view was beautiful. The area was well maintained and the plants and flowers lovely. Even though, it was not far from the 101 highway there was no traffic noise. The cottage is a perfect place to unwind, feel at peace, explore and so much more.We will definitely be returning.Thank you.

Everything was very nice. There's a trail to the beach (very steep in spots). The room was comfortable and the house was equipped with most everything you'll need. Pretty view of ocean from bedroom. I forgot to get wifi info before i arrived and i didnt have any cell service until i hooked up to wifi calling, so make sure to have that. All in all good bargain, especially if bringing pets.

This cottage had most everything we needed but is a little dingy. As many other reviews pointed out (and you can see in their photos but it’s worse in person), the walls are covered in what looks like smoke soot or mildew, there were unfinished/unpainted drywall patches, worn furniture, towel racks about to fall off the wall, and other things that could be fairly easily improved with some TLC. There were also dishes that needed to be washed before use because they were dirty. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was great, the location was very close to Newport and other coastal towns, and the access to and view of the ocean was lovely. If you’re ok with a little dinginess, then you will be fine here. If you like a very clean, updated space then you may want to look elsewhere!

This quaint cottage was the perfect place for our short vacation. It was pet friendly and had a view of the ocean. It was heavenly listening to the waves as we relaxed and slept. Adding an additional day onto our stay was almost seamless. We will rent again.

This is a cozy cottage in a quiet spot south of Newport that needs some TLC. Location was nice and there was a path which led down to the beach which was great! The house had Mildew on windows and interior walls. Sand and dirt on floors. Bed mattress was a bit soft but passable. All furnishings were worn but passable. Fresh paint would brighten up space. Better communication with host and Avari would be appreciated. They never responded to my requests about if there was a coffee maker and filters. Also, the housekeeping should get rid of the kcup coffee machine which didn’t work. Also a black hairdryer did not work so I put it in the garbage.

Well lets start with there was a bandaid in the sink, There was food Underneath the burner, wasnt cleaned burner was not connected.There was sand everywhere in the house it was very dirty underneath the bed. The latches on both sliding doors were broken.They fell out when trying to lock em. There was bushes growing up into the deck. Very dirty, outdated appliances, very little dishes and things to use for cooking. Both living room and bedroom windows were failed, barely barely can see out of them. If I had to say, something nice the firplace was cool but other than that not good.

It was so lovely to have a view of the seaside from the living room and bedroom. The electric Fireplace added a nice touch. The cottage was clean, and the staff was very friendly when we arrived earlier than expected!
