Nestled among trees, this fantastic retreat is just a mile away from Bear Mountain Ski Resort, the Alpine Zoo, & Moonridge Corridor coffee and doughnut shops.

Elks Peak is a charming 1400 sq. ft. cabin in Moonridge with 2 levels, 3 bedrooms, 2 decks, & 2 full bathrooms. Big Bear Lake local ordinance 99.300 limits maximum occupancy to 7 people & 3 parked cars for Elks Peak.

** As you can see from the pictures, the driveway is steep and narrow. If there is snow, you will need tire chains to get up the driveway. **

Elks Peak is the perfect getaway for family, friends, & even pets! This cozy cabin has 2 brick fireplaces, a private hot tub, & a pool table. The kitchen is fully stocked and all bedding & linens are provided by our professional cleaning crew. Amenities include free high-speed Wi-Fi, smart TVs with streaming services, & beautiful views of Bear Mountain ski resort.

For your convenience, Elks Peak is in the Moonridge neighborhood of Big Bear & perfectly located just minutes from tons of activities - hiking, golfing, skiing, biking, swimming, & more. This rustic retreat is 1.1 miles from Bear Mountain, 2.7 miles from Snow Summit, 1.3 miles from Alpine Zoo & Moonridge Corridor, and a quick 8-10 minute drive to Big Bear Village downtown shops & restaurants.

ROOM DESCRIPTIONS

Elks Peak is a cozy cabin with modern amenities, natural landscaping, breathtaking mountain views, and rustic charm. There is a Rinnai wall heater located on the lower level.

* Living Room: The upstairs living room has cozy sofas, a wood-burning brick fireplace, vaulted ceilings with pine beams, hardwood floor, a smart TV with streaming services, access to the upper deck, charming rustic decor, and gorgeous views of the ski resort. There is also a Celestron Astromaster telescope and board games available for guests.

* Kitchen: The fully-stocked & open-concept kitchen is located upstairs. It features stainless steel appliances, gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, crockpot, Instant Pot, 4 slice toaster, blender, roasting & baking pans, BBQ tools, and a teapot. The cookware is Calphalon Premier Non-Stick Mineral Shield. The kitchen also has access to the upper deck dining area.

* Bedroom #1: This upstairs bedroom has 1 queen bed, dresser, carpet floor, ceiling fan, smart TV with streaming services, closet, space heater, & gorgeous view of mountains.

* Bathroom #1: The upstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower and single sink vanity.

* Bedroom #2: This upstairs bedroom has 1 queen bed, dresser, carpet floor, ceiling fan, space heater, & closet.

* Upper Deck: The upper deck has an outdoor dining table, 2 Adirondack chairs, movable shade umbrella, and lovely views of the ski slope. It is the perfect location for mountain views of sunset and stargazing.

* Game Room: The downstairs game room has a sofa, smart TV with streaming services, wood burning brick fireplace, bar top seating, and pool table. The sofa folds out to a bed that can sleep 1 adult or 2 children.

* Bathroom #2: The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower and single sink vanity.

* Laundry Room: There is a washer and dryer available as well as a laundry utility sink near the downstairs game room.

* Bedroom #3: This downstairs bedroom has 1 bunk bed (2 twin beds), desk, dresser, carpet floor, and space heater.

* Lower Deck: The lower deck has a private hot tub, a Weber Genesis propane barbecue grill, guest seating, and majestic views of Bear Mountain.

* Driveway: Please note that this driveway is steep and high clearance vehicles are recommended. During the winter, guests must use tire chains in accordance with local laws.

* Back Yard: This area is steep. There is an area that is great for sledding but please do so at your own risk.

EXPECTATIONS FOR GUEST BEHAVIOR: Sound carries differently at higher elevation than it does on flat land at sea level, due to higher elevations and varying topography. Sound in the mountains can carry for miles. A normal private conversation on a deck can be heard from many houses away. Amplified music can be heard a mile or more away from the speaker.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR: A big part of Big Bear Lake’s charm is the friendly and helpful residents. If you are fortunate enough to be staying at a home near a full-time resident and see them on their deck or in their yard, introduce yourself! Many of our residents enjoy meeting visitors and providing tips on activities and restaurants.

VISIT LIKE A LOCAL: If you extend your visit beyond the weekend, you will see the large amounts of litter and trash left behind by visitors. Here are some tips to help you and your family preserve our natural playground for the next generation.

LEAVE NO TRACE: Simply put, whatever you take into the forest, bring back out including broken sleds.

DON'T LITTER: There are dumpsters located at all trail-heads and picnic areas. If a bin is full, find another. Animals will tear bags open and spread trash throughout the forest.

KEEP OUR COMMUNITY PET-FRIENDLY: Please remember to keep your dog leashed and always bag your pet’s waste, placing it in a dumpster. Leaving your pet’s waste in a bag on the side of a trail is littering.

KEEP THE PEACE: If you are going to listen to music while hiking or enjoying the lake, use headphones instead of a Bluetooth speaker.

RESIDENTIAL FIRE PIT & BBQ: Open fire pit permits are not permissible at short term rental properties. Gas / propane, charcoal, and wood pellet barbecues are permissible with proper briquette disposal.
