About this space
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Catskill Mountains, Pondview Cabin is where you'll relax, escape and find adventure in one spot. The cabin is situated on six acres of private and protected woods in the Sundown Wild Forest section of the Catskill Forest Preserve. Whether it's hiking, skiing, brewery-hopping, shopping or just relaxing around a firepit or in the hot tub, your Catskills adventure awaits at the Pondview Cabin!

The space
The immediate property (everything you can see from the cabin) is around two acres with stunning views of the natural pond.

BEDROOM and BATH: features a king bed with luxury linens to make your time away truly relaxing and restorative. Enjoy a generous shower with essentials by Public Goods. These spaces are cosy but are offset by the spacious living/dining space and enviable patio and garden.

LAUNDRY: (who does that on vacation?) is conveniently located in the utility area with supplies provided during your stay.

LIVING ROOM: the heart of the cabin features a wood stove, large smart TV, and a super comfy fold out couch (no annoying middle bar) that is roughly the size of a queen bed. The space is stocked with books, games and blankets for a chill night in. Set the mood with music using our Marshall speaker or listen to some vinyl on the record player.

KITCHEN and DINING: the open kitchen is well-stocked with essentials for your stay including a double oven, microwave, Moccamaster coffee machine, built-in ice maker and dishwasher. While there is no separate dining table, the large island easily seats four people with ample prep space for the cook!

HOT TUB: steps from the living room is the hot tub that easily fits 4 and is perfect for unwinding after a day of hiking, shopping or lounging.

EV Charger on site: In the driveway, we offer a Tesla level 2 charger that can charge any North American car.

PATIO and GARDEN: you won't want to leave our paradise in the woods! The patio has everything you need to enjoy outdoor living: Solo Stove fire pit, outdoor dining table (seats 4), propane grill and several seating areas to relax and recharge. The garden features a large seating area with a custom fire pit, hammock, open grass for a game of cornhole and curated gardens with a focus on native and pollinator-friendly plants. (You are in the woods and there can be bugs - so we've supplied some repellants for your stay.) We also have one outdoor camera on the driveway alone.

BEYOND THE FENCED YARD: there is an active apiary (bee hives) and is protected by a clearly-marked electric fence. Guests are welcome to walk the clear path around the pond and enjoy the seating area at the far end of the woods (a delight right before sunset!). The natural pond contains a delicate ecosystem and is not for swimming, wading or fishing.

Guest access
You have access to the entire cabin, patio, fenced yard and area surrounding the pond (within the treeline). On the driveway side of the property, we have an additional 5 acres of undeveloped property but ask that you stay within sightlines of the cabin to avoid any unmarked property lines.

The two sheds on the property are not for guest access.
