A real wood-burning fireplace with unique Mexican-imported tiles anchors the great room, and the entry staircase features hand-crafted wrought iron rails forged by a previous owner from the 1940s who was a skilled iron welder. Scattered throughout the home you'll discover hidden drawers and closets with old-fashioned swivel doors that bring back a time few of us can remember. Don't let the history fool you though — this home has been thoughtfully updated for modern comfort. The 1,811 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom layout has been refreshed with a new metal roof, new A/C system, and new septic — all done in 2020 — along with three hurricane-rated entry doors and hurricane-rated windows. Inside you'll find cathedral ceilings, an open floorplan, solid wood cabinets, and walk-in closets. The full kitchen has plenty of cabinet space, there's a private entrance laundry room, high-speed WiFi throughout, and Smart TVs in the living areas. Out back, a massive brick paver patio added in 2020 is big enough for a real party — fire up the BBQ grill, pour a cold drink, and settle in.

Punta Gorda Airport — honestly one of the easiest, least stressful airports in all of Southwest Florida — is just eight minutes from the front door. Port Charlotte shopping and dining is ten minutes out, Fishermen's Village waterfront is ten minutes the other way, and you've got quick, easy access to I-75 with Fort Myers and Sarasota both about 45 minutes away and Tampa under 90. When you're ready for a beach day, Englewood Beach and Boca Grande are about 45 minutes west.
Punta Gorda punches well above its weight for things to do. It's considered one of the top sport-fishing destinations in the world — tarpon, cobia, grouper, red drum, and bass are all within easy reach right off Charlotte Harbor. On Saturday mornings the Farmers Market takes over downtown with more than 70 vendors, live music, fresh produce, and local goods — and yes, it's dog-friendly so bring your pup along. The Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Gardens is a stunning 30-acre waterfront sanctuary worth an afternoon. Kayaking, paddleboarding, dolphin boat tours, and nature hikes are all readily available, and the city even offers free loaner bikes at Fishermen's Village so you can explore downtown without ever moving the car.

It's been here since 1925 and has weathered more than a few Florida hurricanes — because back then craftsmen built things to last.
