Getaway long weekend

The property was fine, it just didn’t have Many extras. Not many dishes, 2 small bars of soap and the littlest shampoo bottle I’ve ever seen. Connecting property had loud music playing until 10 one night. Getting to the beach was perfect and location of rental was good

We booked late so there wasn’t a lot available. The door was hard to open with the keys. At one point we didn’t think we could get back into the condo. I felt like it smelled musty. It was fine...not the best I have stayed in.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not our first time at Sundial but our first in I201. This condo needs help to make a guest feel welcome. Fix the crazy wall unit door! Give your guests salt and pepper at least! A blanket would be great. How about some comfortable lanai chairs? Maybe a drying rack would be nice. Clean the living room couch or the carpet in the bedroom. On one positive note, the bed is very comfortable but you need new pillows. We won’t be back in this condo.

Our First Stay on Sanibel - SUNDIAL I-201

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time on Sanibel. We've visited before but never stayed . . . loved it and learned a lot, too. Our condo was clean, comfortable, quiet and we will rent it again next year. Loved being on the beach and we rented bikes and went all over on them. We also liked the quieter pool. A couple things to improve: really slow internet; the toilet wobbles; the shower could really be replaced with a grab bar, better faucet, and some place to put shampoo, etc.; dishes are very dated and sparse (we bought mugs to use); bi-fold door and closet door are broken; and the deck chairs were bad, dirty, and cracked. All these things would improve the place immensely and, for the money, make the renter feel it's a better value. Perhaps they'll be done before we return next year ?? ReMax staff was great!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great. The unit was not so great. The water pressure in the shower was almost non existent. I had to use a cup from the kitchen to rinse out my hair. The unit smelled very musty and stale, like it had not been occupied in a while. It was also disappointing to learn that none of the Sundial amenities were included when renting through Re/Max. (Beach chairs, bicycles, tennis, etc.)

Very sorry to see that the water pressure in the shower wasn't high enough. It is a constant issue at Sundial, unfortunately. The unit has been recently occupied, but did have a long period of down time this year for various building maintenance projects. I apologize that it detracted from your stay in any way. We do disclose on the listing, arrival paperwork and in the unit about the resort rental items not being available. You are able to save up to 50% compared to resort rates, pay no daily resort fee, get to choose your unit while still being able to use the association pools, restaurants, pool bar, market, tennis (fee) and the beach. We include at least 2 beach chairs, 1 umbrella and beach towels to make the stay that much more enjoyable. I invite you to call us again, in the future so we can assist you even better on a future stay.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The island, the resort, the beaches, and the eateries were better than advertised. The Unit I201 was a bit disappointing. The main patio door was all but inoperable, the privacy drapes were very difficult to open and close, the largest cabinet door in the bedroom could not be closed as it was out of alignment, the unit was very "original" lacking modernization, the carpeting (particularly in the bedroom) was rather badly stained,and the unit did not have a land line phone. The view was nice, the furnishings were functional. In our opinion the unit needed a thorough cleaning, a number of minor repairs, and some updating. The restaurants, cruises, and shops were all splendid. Not a bad experience anywhere.

i certainly do apologize for any issues you experienced during your stay that may have detracted from your island experience. i will go over your concerns with the property owner to see about any potential updates to the unit. we did recently update the cabinet hardware, lanai door pull handles, paint in the bathroom and the carpet has been recently replaced. we hope to welcome you back soon!

Sundial at Sanibel - My Review

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 2nd time back at Sundial in 2017, this time we booked a condo unit for the week thru a rental agency and not the actual resort itself. This unit has views of the ocean and is located just a stones throw from the beach as well as the resort pool and tiki bar, but be warned -- unless you have a Sundial wrist band, they may ask you to leave the main pool area since that is off limits to people who do not make reservations with the resort itself. There is another pool within walking distance that is just as nice and less crowded anyway. The unit has a great kitchen and dining room area, just hit Publix for some groceries before you cross the bridge or be prepared to pay island prices for common goods. The bathroom shower has zero water pressure and the bedroom is a little dated, but the bed was firm and comfortable. The same can't be said for the sofa bed in the living room, so be forewarned. You may want to bring a mattress topper or even an inflatable mattress if sleeping more than two people. Excellent wifi and the a/c blows cold throughout the unit. The beach supplies weren't very impressive so you may want to bring your own. Great BBQ area downstairs and the convenience store on the premises has a great selection of stuff. Because of the unit's location to the beach I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Sanibel and Captiva on a budget.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, beautiful area, very nice amenities for a rental getaway on Sanibel. Unit I-201 was very convenient to access, with a short walk to the beach and pool as well as the main building at Sundial for restaurant and store. Plenty of storage with cabinets in living room and bedroom. Having a grill outside the unit made it easy to have a homemade meal. Beach chairs and umbrella were provided. So many restaurants to choose from on both Sanibel and Captiva it would be hard to mention them all (loved Il Cielo, Cip's Place and the quirky Cheeburger Cheeburger). Beaches are wonderful with more shells than I've ever seen (so many you have to wear shoes to walk over them) Decorating a little old and some items need a little TLC. The shower controls were so loose we thought they'd break inside the wall. Carpets were in need of at least cleaning, if not replacement. The iron leaked water all over the clothes I tried to press. Bathroom sink so slow to drain I had to use plunger several times to clear it. All in all a really nice place that needs a little to make it an excellent one.

Reviewer Comments: Great location, Remax staff was very accommodating and came over quickly when we needed more pillows and locked ourselves out of the condo. The sundial has a great marketplace for basics including groceries,band aids, coffee, and delicious breakfast sandwiches well as 2 restaurants so we loved having everything right there at the resort. The only downside was that we didn't have access to gym or bikes at the resort. However Remax gave us info on where to rent bikes.
